Job Overview:
The Senior Finance Manager will be stationed at the India Country Office in New Delhi and will be an integral part of the Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) team. This role is pivotal in optimizing financial portfolios to meet the foundation's objectives, engaging with partners and grantees, and conducting thorough analyses of grants to enhance the foundation's impact. The position requires a strategic approach to financial management, including the ability to influence stakeholders through effective communication and partnership skills. The candidate will need to utilize financial analysis, organizational due diligence, and modeling skills in advisory capacities. A proactive and solution-oriented mindset is essential, along with the ability to distill complex data into understandable insights for non-financial audiences. A passion for the foundation's mission, particularly in addressing gender and global health inequities, is crucial.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The selected candidate will independently lead complex annual budgeting and financial planning processes, collaborating with Program Officers and the Strategy, Planning, and Management teams to translate business strategies into mid and long-range forecasts. Responsibilities include creating detailed, dynamic four-year budgets, conducting risk assessments, and scenario modeling. The Senior Finance Manager will provide strategic financial information to program leadership to support budget management and resource allocation. They will also create financial plans and dashboards to enhance organizational capacity and advise program teams on diverse and complex grants. The role involves leading organizational assessments of key grantees, managing grant and contract spending, and recommending financial strategies during strategy development efforts. The candidate will also be responsible for identifying financial trends, assessing business plans, and performing financial sustainability analyses. Additionally, they will lead data analyses to generate insights on grant portfolios and mentor Finance Associates or Managers as needed.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree along with 12 years of experience in strategic financial analysis and/or planning and leadership, or equivalent relevant experience. They should demonstrate strong financial acumen, including experience in financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting. The ability to identify operational and financial risks and propose mitigating strategies is essential. Proven technical knowledge of financial statements, financial modeling, and complex grant structuring is required. Excellent written and oral communication skills are necessary, along with the ability to present complex financial concepts to diverse audiences. Candidates should be adept at managing multiple projects simultaneously and exhibit high integrity and leadership qualities.

Educational Background:
A Bachelor’s degree is required for this position, with a strong preference for candidates who have pursued further education or certifications in finance, accounting, or a related field. Advanced degrees or professional certifications in finance or accounting would be advantageous and may enhance a candidate's qualifications.

Experience:
Candidates should have a minimum of 12 years of experience in strategic financial analysis and/or planning, with a proven track record of increasing responsibility in financial roles. Experience in navigating matrixed organizations and working within the nonprofit sector is highly desirable. The ability to work collaboratively across various disciplines and cultures is essential, as is experience in advising C-level executives and managing complex financial projects.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory, as the role requires excellent communication skills. Proficiency in additional languages may be considered an asset, particularly if they are relevant to the regions in which the foundation operates.

This is a limited-term position (LTE) for nine months, ideally starting in December 2025 or January 202
  • The organization will not provide relocation assistance for this role. The postholder will report to the director" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">Deputy Director of Financial Planning & Analysis for Country Offices. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in India without the need for visa sponsorship. The role may require domestic and international travel up to 15-20%.
