Job Overview:
The Consultant for the Cool Coalition will play a pivotal role in supporting the development of the 2025 Global Cooling Watch report, which is essential for advancing the global agenda on energy-efficient and climate-friendly cooling solutions. This position involves project management, stakeholder engagement, and coordination of inputs, ensuring that the report is comprehensive and aligns with the goals of the Cool Coalition. The consultant will also prepare short papers and presentations for the G20 Presidency, contributing to working group documents and case studies related to cooling, buildings, and energy. The role requires a deep understanding of the cooling sector and its environmental impacts, as well as the ability to engage with various stakeholders to facilitate knowledge exchange and advocacy efforts.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate the development of the 2025 Global Cooling Watch report, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with COP30 objectives.
  • Engage with stakeholders from government, academia, and industry to gather inputs and insights for the report.
  • Oversee the design and delivery of surveys to collect relevant data for analysis.
  • Analyze data and develop recommendations based on findings, contributing to the authorship of the report where necessary.
  • Prepare short papers and presentations for G20 meetings, focusing on cooling, buildings, and energy topics.
  • Support the implementation of the Global Cooling Pledge by conducting needs assessments and providing strategic guidance to countries.
  • Collaborate with the Cool Coalition members to facilitate knowledge exchange and joint action towards sustainable cooling solutions.
  • Monitor and report on progress related to the Coalition's targets and initiatives, including the biannual Global Cooling Watch report.

Required Qualifications:
  • Advanced university degree in economics, environmental science, or engineering.
  • At least 15 years of professional experience in energy and climate policy, particularly in refrigeration, air conditioning, and related cooling solutions.
  • Proven experience working with international stakeholder groups and industry players in the HVAC and energy sectors.
  • Strong technical understanding of cooling products and their environmental and energy impacts.
  • Experience in preparing large multi-stakeholder publications in the energy or climate arena is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with government processes related to energy and climate policy is essential.

Educational Background:
