Job Overview: The ICT Associate position at UNICEF Zimbabwe involves supporting ongoing and new ICT/T4D projects while providing user support to the Zimbabwe Country Office (ZCO) staff. The role requires collaboration with various teams to ensure efficient ICT operations, including managing service requests, maintaining ICT equipment inventory, and supporting the deployment of cloud-based solutions. The ICT Associate will also participate in process simplification and automation projects, contribute to community engagement platforms, and assist in data collection and visualization efforts. This position is crucial for enhancing the technological capabilities of UNICEF Zimbabwe, ensuring that staff have the necessary tools and support to fulfill their roles effectively. The ICT Associate will also engage in volunteerism activities, promoting the UN Volunteers programme and contributing to community development initiatives.
Duties and Responsibilities: The ICT Associate will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including:
Providing first-level support by receiving, logging, and processing service requests from ZCO staff.
Managing the lifecycle of ICT incidents assigned in the service management tool.
Participating in upgrades or maintenance of the Meraki LAN/WAN infrastructure.
Collaborating with the ZCO Asset Manager to maintain an accurate inventory of ICT equipment.
Supporting the deployment, maintenance, and billing of Teams/Cloud Telephony systems.
Assisting with conferencing needs, including ICT and audiovisual equipment.
Providing support on SharePoint and other cloud platforms.
Participating in office process simplification and automation projects, utilizing tools like Power Automate and Power Apps.
Engaging in global rollouts of UNICEF systems and ongoing T4D and Innovation projects. 1
Supporting data collection campaigns and data visualization efforts using tools like Power BI. 1
Performing any other duties assigned within the ICT context. Additionally, the ICT Associate is encouraged to engage in volunteerism activities, strengthening their understanding of volunteerism and contributing to local community initiatives.
Required Qualifications: Candidates for the ICT Associate position should possess a strong understanding of ICT systems and support processes. They should have experience in providing technical support and troubleshooting for various ICT platforms. Familiarity with cloud-based solutions, data visualization tools, and process automation is highly desirable. Experience: Candidates should have at least 2 years of relevant experience in ICT support or a related field. Experience working in an international organization or a non-profit environment is preferred. Languages: Fluency in English is mandatory for the ICT Associate position. Additional Notes: This is a national UN Volunteer assignment, and the selected candidate will be responsible for arranging their own housing and living essentials. The contract duration is specified, with the possibility of extensions based on funding availability, operational necessity, and satisfactory performance.
