Job Overview: The ET Temporary position within the World Bank's Treasury sector is designed for individuals looking to contribute to a vital area of financial operations. The Treasury is responsible for managing a substantial portfolio of assets, leading financing programs, and conducting asset and liability management. The role involves working closely with the Treasury Operations Department, which supports various operational functions including cash management, banking operations, and data analytics. The incumbent will be expected to engage in data engineering, visualization, and machine learning to enhance operational workflows and decision-making processes. This position requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and collaboration with teams across different geographical locations, including Washington D.C. and Sofia, Bulgaria.
Duties and Responsibilities: The primary responsibilities of the incumbent include collaborating with the Treasury Banking Operations (TREBK) team to adopt new technologies and automations. This includes building data analytics, reports, and dashboards from a Dremio data lake. The role also involves data engineering tasks such as utilizing Python, SQL, and ETL processes to prepare data for analysis. The candidate will design and implement data visualization solutions using tools like Power BI and Tableau, and develop predictive models using machine learning techniques. Additional responsibilities include creating programming-based tools for data transformation, training team members, and ensuring compliance with World Bank IT infrastructure and security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security requirements. The candidate may also be required to work in shifts that align with Singapore or London time zones and observe the US holiday calendar as needed.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Finance, Data Science, Technology, or a related field, along with at least one year of relevant professional experience in the FinTech domain. Technical skills in data analytics and programming are essential, particularly in Dremio, SQL, and Python. Experience with data analytics platforms such as Tableau and Microsoft Power Platforms is also required. Proven experience with large datasets, cloud environments, and optimizing SQL queries is necessary, along with a strong background in data engineering and statistical analysis. Excellent communication and collaboration skills are crucial for success in this role.
Educational Background: A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a relevant field such as Finance, Data Science, or Technology is required for this position. This educational background should provide a solid foundation in analytical skills and technical knowledge necessary for the role.
Experience: The position requires a minimum of one year of relevant professional experience in the FinTech domain. Candidates should have hands-on experience in data analytics, programming, and working with large-scale datasets.
