Job Overview:
The Area Field Associate will play a crucial role in supporting the implementation of UN Women's activities at the field level, specifically managing Oasis-related activities in 3 to 4 centers in the northern governorates of Jordan. This position requires close collaboration with the Field Officer and involves regular travel within the designated area. The Area Field Associate will coordinate and support program activities with local NGOs, community-based organizations (CBOs), and the Ministry of Social Development (MoSD) staff. The role includes conducting needs assessments, providing capacity building for center managers, and ensuring the effective delivery of women's economic empowerment activities. The Area Field Associate will also be responsible for organizing meetings, events, and trainings, as well as representing the program in various coordination meetings. Additionally, the incumbent will collaborate with the UN Women protection focal point to maintain a functional referral system and oversee the delivery of protection-related awareness sessions.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Programme Implementation: Coordinate and support the implementation of program activities with target locations, NGOs, CBOs, and MoSD staff in the assigned governorate. Provide ongoing programmatic and operational guidance to MoSD center managers and staff. Conduct needs assessments to identify local community needs and tailor center activities accordingly. Coordinate with local partners to provide skills development, job placement, and entrepreneurship training for women and girls. Ensure logistical arrangements for program activities and oversee the implementation of women's economic empowerment initiatives. Submit timely and accurate reports.
  • Coordination: Organize and facilitate meetings, events, and trainings with local counterparts and stakeholders. Oversee partnerships with local authorities, NGOs, CBOs, and the private sector. Represent the program in internal and external coordination meetings. Contribute to communication materials, including reports and web articles. Collect and report data for program monitoring and evaluation.
  • Protection Support: Collaborate with the UN Women protection focal point to maintain a referral system in each center. Provide immediate referrals as needed and oversee the delivery of protection-related awareness sessions. Engage men and boys in awareness-raising on GBV and women's leadership.
  • Perform other duties as necessary for the efficient functioning of the Office and the Organization.

Required Qualifications:
Completion of secondary education is required. A Bachelor's degree in social sciences or related fields is desirable. At least 7 years of experience in implementing field-level programs focused on gender equality, women's empowerment, and protection, ideally within humanitarian or development settings. Strong coordination skills with government entities, NGOs, and CBOs are required, including organizing trainings and community engagement activities. Demonstrated ability to manage protection referral systems and deliver GBV awareness sessions is essential.

Educational Background:

Experience:
The position requires at least 7 years of experience in implementing field-level programs that focus on gender equality, women's empowerment, and protection. Experience should ideally be within humanitarian or development settings, demonstrating strong coordination skills with various stakeholders, including government entities, NGOs, and community-based organizations. The candidate should have a proven track record of managing protection referral systems and engaging in community awareness initiatives.

Languages:
Fluency in Arabic and English is required for effective communication and engagement with diverse stakeholders in the region.

The position is full-time and involves regular travel within the northern governorates of Jordan.
