Job Overview: The internship-position" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">internship position in the Future Space Transportation Preparation Department focuses on supporting the organization of ecosystem events that are crucial for the advancement of space transportation technologies. The intern will play a pivotal role in the planning and execution of a bi-annual event that gathers around 250 participants, including industry leaders, innovators, and representatives from national agencies and ESA. This event serves as a platform for networking, contract signing, and showcasing innovative ideas. The intern will gain hands-on experience in event management, communication, and project coordination, contributing to the visibility and impact of ESA's programs on the European stage. The role is designed to provide a unique opportunity to develop essential skills in a dynamic and international environment while supporting the success of high-profile events.
Duties and Responsibilities: The intern will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including coordinating with internal teams, external vendors, and stakeholders to ensure the seamless execution of the event. They will act as a liaison between the event team and participants, providing timely updates and gathering feedback to enhance the overall event experience. The intern will oversee logistical aspects, manage participant registrations, and facilitate networking opportunities by organizing sessions and activities that encourage interaction and collaboration among attendees. Additionally, if time permits, the intern may provide support for regular events related to the FLPP procurement scheme and company matchmaking processes, such as pitch days and workshops.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must be university students, preferably at the master’s level, and must demonstrate that they will be enrolled at their university for the entire duration of the internship. They should possess excellent communication and event organization skills, the ability to plan and manage complex projects with an agile mindset, and the initiative to solve problems autonomously. Proficiency in project management and communication tools is also required.
Educational Background: The ideal candidate should be pursuing a degree in a relevant field, such as event management, communications, project management, or a related discipline. A strong academic background will be essential to support the responsibilities of the internship.
Experience: While prior experience in event management or project coordination is beneficial, it is not mandatory.
