Job Posting Organization:
The United Nations Truce Supervision Organization (UNTSO) was established on 29 May 1948, following a resolution by the United Nations security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">Security Council. Its mission is to observe and maintain ceasefires and assist in the supervision of the 1949 Armistice Agreements in the region. UNTSO operates in five countries: Egypt, Israel, Jordan, Lebanon, and the Syrian Arab Republic. Job Overview:
The Field Security Assistant position is located at UNTSO Headquarters in Jerusalem, within the Security Section. The role involves supporting the Chief Security Officer and the Deputy Chief Security Officer in various security-related functions. The incumbent will be responsible for populating the Situational Awareness Geographical Environment Database (SAGE) with security incidents, drafting daily reports, monitoring security developments, and translating documents as necessary. The position requires a proactive approach to security management, including preparing briefings, conducting security surveys, and ensuring adherence to security protocols. The Field Security Assistant will also supervise Field Security Assistants and coordinate with various stakeholders to ensure a secure environment for UN personnel and assets.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Field Security Assistant will perform a wide range of duties, including but not limited to: populating the SAGE database with security incidents, drafting daily incident reports, monitoring security developments in the area of responsibility (AoR), summarizing security-related headlines from local media, preparing daily and weekly reports, assisting in the preparation of security reports for regional visits, presenting analytical briefs, supervising routine patrols, ensuring adherence to security protocols, monitoring communication networks, conducting security surveys, liaising with host government security officials, and supporting emergency response situations. The incumbent will also be responsible for maintaining accurate logbook entries, briefing the Guard Force Supervisor, and performing shift duties as required.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a high school diploma, with additional training in information analysis or a related field being desirable. A valid driver's license in Israel and the West Bank is required. Proficiency in Office applications such as PowerPoint, Word, and Excel is necessary. Experience in preparing briefings, knowledge of SAGE or similar applications, and drafting security-related documents are also required. Candidates should demonstrate a strong understanding of security policies and practices, as well as the ability to analyze and interpret data effectively.

Educational Background:
A high school diploma is required for this position. Additional training in information analysis or open-source information is desirable, indicating a preference for candidates who have pursued further education or specialized training in relevant fields.

Experience:
A minimum of five years of progressively responsible security experience with a local, national, or private police, security, or fire brigade organization is required. This requirement is reduced to three years for candidates who possess a first-level university degree or higher. Experience within the UN or other international organizations' security services is considered desirable, highlighting the importance of familiarity with international security protocols and practices.

Languages:
English is the mandatory working language for this position, with a required proficiency level of UN Level III in reading, writing, listening, and speaking. Knowledge of either Arabic or Hebrew is desirable, with a minimum proficiency level of UN Level II in these languages, which would enhance communication and operational effectiveness in the region.
