Job Overview:
The consultant will play a vital role in documenting the mission of the UNFPA East and Southern Africa Regional Director during their official visit to Botswana from 10–14 November 202
  • This position involves capturing high-quality photography and videography that highlights the Regional Director's engagements with government officials, development partners, youth organizations, and other key stakeholders. The consultant will work closely with the Resource Mobilization and Communication Analyst and will be responsible for producing visual content that aligns with UNFPA's communication and visibility objectives. The materials created will be utilized across various platforms, including social media, publications, and reports, to showcase UNFPA's impact in advancing SRHR in Botswana and the region. The consultant is expected to work independently for a duration of three days, ensuring that all deliverables meet UNFPA's technical standards and branding requirements.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The consultant will be responsible for the following tasks:
  • Capture high-quality photos and short videos of all key mission activities, including courtesy calls, site visits, youth dialogues, and community interactions.
  • Highlight UNFPA’s collaboration with the Government of Botswana and key stakeholders in advancing the SRHR agenda.
  • Produce visual content suitable for use on digital, social media, and print platforms that reinforces UNFPA’s brand and impact.
  • Deliver edited, ready-to-use photographs and short videos that meet UNFPA technical standards.
  • Record short (30–60 second) video clips suitable for use on social media platforms.
  • Edit all images and videos, ensuring high-quality output that aligns with UNFPA branding standards.
  • Ensure all photos and video clips are submitted by the 18th of November 2025 in high-resolution electronic format.
  • Deliver the final edited files in high resolution within the agreed timeframe.

Required Qualifications:
The consultant must possess the following qualifications:
  • At least five (5) years of professional experience in photography and videography, preferably documenting development or high-level events.
  • Prior experience working with international organizations or UN agencies is an added advantage.
  • Own professional photography/videography equipment capable of delivering the required resolution and quality.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet tight deadlines and deliver high-quality edited materials.
  • A professional understanding of visual storytelling, composition, and brand alignment.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are essential for effective collaboration and engagement with stakeholders.

Educational Background:
A relevant educational background in photography, videography, communications, or a related field is preferred. The consultant should have formal training or certifications that demonstrate their expertise in visual media production and storytelling.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of five years of professional experience in photography and videography, with a strong emphasis on documenting significant events, particularly in the context of development or international organizations. Experience working with UN agencies or similar entities is highly desirable, as it indicates familiarity with the standards and expectations of such organizations.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory, as it is the primary language of communication within UNFPA and for the documentation process. Knowledge of additional languages, particularly those relevant to the local context in Botswana, would be considered an asset but is not mandatory.
