Job Overview: The Health & Nutrition Officer position involves providing professional technical assistance and support for the design, planning, implementation, monitoring, evaluation, and administration of health and nutrition program/project activities. This includes conducting data analysis, progress reporting, knowledge networking, and capacity building to achieve the objectives outlined in the work plan. The role is aligned with the Health & Nutrition program goals and strategy, ensuring that children and adolescents enjoy their rights through equitable access to social services and protection from violence. The officer will work closely with internal and external partners to develop and implement integrated strategies and approaches, ensuring timely delivery of planned results and enhancing project efficiency and effectiveness.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide accurate information, data analysis, and documentation to support situation analysis and reporting.
Offer technical assistance for the development and implementation of integrated Health & Nutrition strategies through collaboration with partners.
Establish work plans and objectives, ensuring timely delivery of results through coordination with relevant partners.
Enhance project efficiency through effective follow-up on implementation.
Monitor project implementation progress for adjustments and improvements in program delivery.
Ensure transparency in supply and non-supply assistance and disbursement of program funds.
Maintain effective partnerships for advocacy, technical coordination, and knowledge sharing.
Keep up-to-date program information available and prepare reports for stakeholders.
Maintain emergency preparedness and provide effective responses in emergencies, strengthening partnerships with humanitarian actors. 1
Accomplish other assigned duties and responsibilities effectively.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a university degree in a health-related field (nursing or medicine) with additional studies in public health, nutrition, and pediatrics. A minimum of one year of professional work experience in planning, programming, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of health programs is required. Experience in program management or as a technical expert in child survival and health care is essential. Familiarity with planning, design, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of health programs for individuals under 18 is necessary. Previous experience working with government and partner organizations in Colombia is an asset, as is prior experience in related program functions.
Educational Background: A university degree in a health-related field such as nursing or medicine is required, along with additional studies in public health, nutrition, and pediatrics. This educational background is crucial for understanding the complexities of health and nutrition programs aimed at children and adolescents.
Experience: The position requires a minimum of one year of professional work experience in relevant areas, including planning, programming, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of health programs. Familiarity with the local context and previous work with government and partner organizations in Colombia will be advantageous.
