Job Overview:
The internship-position" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">internship position within the Space Safety Programme Coordination Office at ESA offers a unique opportunity for university students to engage in critical activities related to space safety. The intern will support the Head of the Space Safety Programme Coordination Office in various tasks, including the preparation of reports, briefs, and presentations that facilitate communication and coordination among ESA Member States and other partners. The role also involves contributing to the operations of the Protect Accelerator, focusing on initiatives like the Zero Debris Charter and space weather services. This internship is designed to provide hands-on experience in a dynamic environment, where the intern will gain insights into the strategic and operational aspects of space safety, while also enhancing their skills in communication and outreach.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The intern will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including but not limited to: assisting in the preparation of reports and background materials for meetings and presentations; supporting the coordination of activities related to the Space Safety Programme; engaging in outreach efforts to promote the programme; managing communication strategies and online presence; collaborating with various stakeholders, including ESA Member States and industry partners; and participating in the organization of events and workshops related to space safety. The intern will also have the opportunity to contribute to the development of strategies aimed at mitigating space hazards and enhancing the sustainability of space operations.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must be university students, preferably at the master's level, and must be able to demonstrate enrollment at their university for the entire duration of the internship. A strong interest in space safety and related fields is essential. Additionally, candidates should possess good organizational skills, the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. Familiarity with space-related topics and previous experience in communication or outreach activities would be advantageous.

Educational Background:
The ideal candidate should be pursuing a degree in a relevant field, such as engineering, science, social science, or communication. A strong academic background, particularly in areas related to space safety, environmental science, or public relations, will be beneficial for this internship. Candidates should also be able to demonstrate their commitment to their studies and their ability to balance academic responsibilities with internship duties.

Experience:
While prior experience in the space sector is not mandatory, any academic or practical experience related to engineering, science, or social sciences will be considered a strong asset. Languages:
The working languages of the European Space Agency are English and French.
