Job Overview:
The Education Project Officer will play a crucial role in supporting the implementation of NRC’s education projects in Hebron, with a focus on improving access to quality learning for vulnerable children and youth. This position requires close coordination with schools, local authorities, and community partners to ensure effective planning, delivery, and monitoring of education activities. The Project Officer will be responsible for supporting teacher capacity-building initiatives, promoting safe and inclusive learning environments, and ensuring that all activities align with NRC’s policies and core values, which include dedication, innovation, inclusivity, and accountability. The role is pivotal in ensuring high-quality implementation of education projects, contributing to impactful and inclusive learning outcomes for the target population.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Education Project Officer will have a range of responsibilities, including but not limited to: preparing and submitting progress reports as required by management; maintaining accurate and organized filing of all project-related documents; ensuring that projects prioritize the most vulnerable beneficiaries; exploring and evaluating innovative approaches to assistance; maintaining regular communication and coordination with the Technical Officer on thematic project areas; implementing education activities in alignment with the direction of the Education Project Coordinator and Manager; delivering NRC programmatic components and project thematic areas with support from technical staff; participating in team planning and regular coordination meetings; engaging in Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) activities; ensuring effective coordination with school management, teaching staff, parents, and learners; conducting regular classroom observations; providing structured feedback to teachers; maintaining accurate project data records; preparing and developing training materials; leading training sessions and workshops; and collaborating with partners and local community organizations to ensure project activities are carried out as planned.

Required Qualifications:
The ideal candidate for the Education Project Officer position should possess the following qualifications: proven experience working as a Project Officer in humanitarian or recovery settings, preferably in education-related projects; prior experience in implementing remedial education programs or psycho-social support initiatives; fluency in Arabic, both written and spoken, with proficiency in English considered an asset; a Bachelor’s degree in Education, Social Science, or a related field relevant to the role; a minimum of 5 years of professional experience in the education sector, ideally within emergency or humanitarian contexts; proven experience in delivering training and applying effective capacity-building techniques; relevant work experience in project implementation, preferably within NGOs or international organizations; and a demonstrated commitment to participatory approaches in aid and development programming.

Educational Background:
Candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree in Education, Social Science, or a related field that is relevant to the role of Education Project Officer. This educational background is essential to ensure that the candidate has the necessary theoretical knowledge and understanding of educational principles and practices, particularly in the context of humanitarian settings.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of 5 years of professional experience in the education sector, with a preference for candidates who have worked in emergency or humanitarian contexts. This level of experience is crucial for understanding the complexities and challenges associated with implementing educational programs in such environments. Candidates should also have relevant and progressive work experience in project implementation, ideally within NGOs or international organizations, to ensure they are well-equipped to handle the responsibilities of the role.

Languages:
Fluency in Arabic, both written and spoken, is mandatory for this position. Proficiency in English is considered an asset, as it may facilitate communication with international partners and stakeholders. The ability to communicate effectively in both languages is essential for the successful implementation of education projects and for engaging with diverse groups within the community.

Additional Notes:
The Education Project Officer position is based in Hebron and is classified as Grade (05) Step (01). The contract duration is for 12 months, with the possibility of renewal based on the needs of the position, available funding, and performance.
