Job Overview: The Warehouse Manager position at WFP involves overseeing various warehousing activities, ensuring the protection of products and supplies, and maintaining organized storage services in accordance with WFP guidelines. This role is crucial for the efficient management of warehouse operations, which includes planning and executing storage strategies that ensure the safe and effective handling of all products and supplies. The Warehouse Manager will report directly to the logistics-officer" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">Logistics Officer and will be responsible for implementing best practices in warehousing to meet operational needs while adhering to WFP's standards. The position requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to coordinate with various stakeholders to ensure seamless operations. Duties and Responsibilities:
Take responsibility for effective planning and management of warehouse operations to ensure safe and efficient storage of all products and supplies.
Participate in reviewing WFP's established warehousing standards and procedures to meet evolving operational needs and efficiency requirements.
Coordinate the receipt and dispatch of goods to ensure accurate records, accounting entries, and reports are available at all times to facilitate decision-making.
Ensure the accuracy of data related to warehouse operations, including identifying discrepancies, to provide timely reports on product movements in compliance with WFP requirements.
Manage inventory control processes, including physical stock checks and reporting, to address existing or emerging issues related to stock management promptly and ensure adherence to WFP's handling and storage procedures.
Supervise the timely preparation of reports and statistics on warehouse operations or prepare them directly to support informed planning and decision-making.
Oversee product protection by providing guidance and taking initiatives to implement preventive measures, ensuring goods are maintained in good condition and quality control measures are properly executed following WFP's established procedures.
Regularly assess available warehouse space and design and implement new layouts to meet operational needs while ensuring cost-effectiveness.
Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure harmonized and consistent warehousing services. 1
Identify training needs and schedule training efficiently to ensure all staff members possess the necessary knowledge and skills to fulfill their responsibilities. 1

Required Qualifications: Education: Completion of secondary education is required. A post-secondary certificate in a functional area is desirable. Experience: • Experience in managing a logistics database and executing queries related to ongoing shipments, procurement, insurance claims, and food stocks is preferred. • Experience in administering contracts with third-party service providers is essential. • Experience in preparing contractual documents and executing contracts is required. • Experience in budget tracking and reporting is necessary. Knowledge of logistics and warehouse management principles is also beneficial. Skills: Strong organizational and communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment are essential for this role.
Educational Background: The position requires at least a completion of secondary education, with a preference for candidates who have obtained a post-secondary certificate in a relevant functional area.
