Job Overview: The internship within UNICEF's Global Shared Services Centre (GSSC) is designed to provide hands-on experience in business analysis, reporting, project coordination, and digital transformation. The intern will support the Business Innovation and Support (BIS) team in managing demand and change activities, contributing to the rollout of digital initiatives and process improvements. This role offers a unique opportunity to engage with various business processes, participate in trainings, and gain valuable work experience in a global organization. The intern will be involved in tasks that enhance operational efficiency and support the effective achievement of UNICEF's program results worldwide.
Duties and Responsibilities: The intern will be responsible for a variety of tasks including: organizing meetings, taking notes, and tracking testing progress; collecting and entering data into system logs for monitoring; preparing presentations and visual summaries; assisting with communication tasks such as drafting emails and updates; organizing project meetings and maintaining shared folders; tracking spending and preparing budget summaries; checking contract-related timelines and updating databases; formatting documents and maintaining internal sites like SharePoint; and providing general administrative and coordination support to the BIS team as needed. Additional tasks may be assigned as required.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must be enrolled in a Master’s program or have completed a Bachelor’s degree within the past year, preferably in fields such as Business Administration, Public Administration, Information Management, Finance, or Economics. Excellent academic performance is required, as evidenced by recent university records. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) is essential, and familiarity with tools like SharePoint and Power BI is considered an asset. Strong analytical skills, effective communication abilities, and flexibility to manage multiple assignments are also required.
Educational Background: The educational background required for this position includes being currently enrolled in a Master’s program or having recently completed a Bachelor’s degree in relevant fields such as Business Administration, Public Administration, Information Management, Finance, or Economics. Candidates should demonstrate excellent academic performance through their university records.
Experience: The position requires candidates to have some level of experience, preferably through internships or academic projects, that demonstrates their ability to engage in business analysis, project coordination, and digital transformation initiatives. While specific years of experience are not mandated, familiarity with relevant tools and concepts is beneficial.
Languages: Fluency in English is mandatory for this position. Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, or Spanish) or a local language is considered an asset, enhancing the candidate's profile for this internship.
Additional Notes: The internship is open to nationals of Hungary or other EU/Schengen countries, or those with a valid long-term Hungarian student visa/work permit. Candidates must provide proof of their work permit if applicable. The internship is paid, with a stipend of up to HUF 405,941 per month for full-time arrangements, prorated for part-time interns. Interns are expected to be physically present in Budapest and may have flexible working arrangements. They must also have proof of SARS-CoV-2 vaccination and their own medical insurance for the duration of the internship. The internship may require the intern to be in the office for specific activities, and full-time interns can take up to 2.5 days off per month for any reason.
