Job Overview: The Advocacy Coordinator plays a crucial role in leading the design and implementation of DRC Ukraine’s advocacy strategy. Duties and Responsibilities: The Advocacy Coordinator is responsible for a wide range of duties including the development, implementation, and updating of DRC Ukraine’s advocacy strategy in alignment with program priorities and the evolving context in Ukraine. Key responsibilities include advising the Country Director and Senior Management Team (SMT) on advocacy priorities, risks, and opportunities; ensuring that advocacy objectives are evidence-based; producing various advocacy materials such as crisis briefs and reports; participating in inter-agency advocacy working groups; maintaining awareness of national and regional developments; and supporting program leadership in articulating advocacy priorities within various forums. The role also involves contributing to DRC’s global and regional advocacy initiatives and developing indicators to measure the effectiveness of advocacy efforts.
Required Qualifications: To qualify for this position, candidates must possess a Master’s degree in a relevant field and have at least 3-5 years of experience in advocacy related to humanitarian issues, refugee rights, and human rights. Candidates should demonstrate experience in influencing and advocacy work, including lobbying and policy development, particularly in complex international conflicts and displacement crises. A strong understanding of DRC’s core sectors and excellent advocacy skills towards government stakeholders are essential. Knowledge of human rights, international law" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">humanitarian law, and protection principles is also required, along with a demonstrated ability to conduct context analysis and full proficiency in English.
Educational Background: Candidates must hold a Master’s degree in a relevant subject area that supports the responsibilities of the Advocacy Coordinator role. Experience: The position requires candidates to have a minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience in advocacy, particularly in humanitarian contexts. Additional Notes: The contract for this position is set for 12 months, with the possibility of renewal based on performance and funding availability, following a successful three-month probation period. The position is classified as Band F non-management, and the designated duty station is Kyiv. The anticipated start date for this role is January 202
