Job Overview:
The Communication and Partnership Specialist plays a crucial role in planning, implementing, monitoring, and evaluating advocacy and communication strategies aimed at raising awareness about children's and women's issues. This position is integral to strengthening political will in support of UNICEF's mission and enhancing the organization's credibility and brand. The specialist will be responsible for producing timely communication products and materials that align with the country communication strategy, regional and global campaigns, and resource mobilization efforts. The role also involves maintaining effective media relations, developing partnerships with stakeholders and donors, and conducting regular monitoring and evaluation activities to ensure the effectiveness of communication efforts. The specialist will also manage relationships with celebrities and partners to support advocacy objectives and special events that further UNICEF's goals.

Duties and Responsibilities:
1) Ensure timely execution and follow-up of communication products and materials to support the country communication strategy and resource mobilization efforts. 2) Provide professional assistance in developing and maintaining relationships with journalists and media outlets across various platforms, ensuring effective communication of UNICEF's initiatives. 3) Assist in developing and maintaining contact information and materials for partners, stakeholders, and donors to enhance collaboration and support for UNICEF's objectives. 4) Conduct regular monitoring and evaluation activities to assess the impact of communication efforts, preparing and sharing results and reports in a timely manner. 5) Maintain and develop a contact list of individuals and organizations essential for achieving advocacy and communication objectives, facilitating their participation in special events and activities.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a university degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or a related field. Additionally, at least one year of practical professional work experience in communication, print and broadcast media, or interactive digital media is required. Relevant experience at the country level, particularly in development, fragile settings, and humanitarian contexts, is desirable. Familiarity with emergency situations is also beneficial.

Educational Background:
A university degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or a related field is mandatory for this position. This educational background provides the necessary foundation for understanding the complexities of communication strategies and media relations.

Experience:
The position requires at least one year of practical professional work experience in communication, which may include roles in print and broadcast media or interactive digital media. Candidates with relevant experience in development contexts, particularly in fragile or humanitarian settings, will be viewed favorably. Fieldwork experience in emergency situations is also advantageous.

Languages:
Fluency in English is required for this position. Knowledge of another official UN language, such as Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, or Spanish, or a local language is considered an asset, enhancing the candidate's ability to communicate effectively in diverse contexts.
