This role will involve contributing to various media and communication projects, providing the intern with valuable insights into media monitoring for European countries, creating engaging social media content, liaising with the press, and organizing meetings and events. Duties and Responsibilities: The intern will be responsible for a variety of tasks that contribute to the overall communications strategy of HRW. These responsibilities include but are not limited to: assisting in the development and execution of media campaigns, conducting media monitoring and analysis for European countries, creating and curating content for social media platforms, drafting press releases and other communication materials, liaising with journalists and media outlets, organizing events and meetings, and supporting the communications team in various administrative tasks. The intern will also be expected to participate in team meetings and contribute ideas for improving communication strategies and outreach efforts.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must be university students or recent graduates who are enrolled in an academic program or have recently completed one. They should possess strong organizational skills, be self-motivated, and demonstrate reliability. A keen interest in international human rights, news media, and social media is essential. Proficiency in English and Dutch is mandatory, with excellent verbal and written communication skills required. Additionally, familiarity with other European languages such as Flemish, Swedish, or Danish is considered a plus. Proficiency in computer applications, including Microsoft Office and internet applications, is also necessary.
