Job Overview:
The IT Analyst position at the World Bank is a critical role within the Information and Technology Solutions (ITS) Vice Presidency. This position is designed for a highly motivated and detail-oriented professional who will be responsible for analyzing and developing application and reporting solutions. The successful candidate will work closely with business users to gather and analyze requirements, converting them into technical specifications and effective business systems solutions. The role requires a strong understanding of various technologies, including Azure Cloud, Python, MS SQL, Oracle, Dremio, and Power BI. The IT Analyst will be part of a development team based in Chennai, India, and will play a key role in ensuring that the World Bank's IT solutions align with its mission of ending extreme poverty and promoting shared prosperity. The position emphasizes the importance of customer-centric solutions and the need for continuous adaptation to changing business priorities.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The IT Analyst will have a diverse set of responsibilities, including:
  • Collaborating with business users to gather and analyze business requirements, translating them into technical requirements and effective business systems solutions.
  • Prioritizing requirements based on business needs and developing detailed business use cases, technical specifications, and documentation.
  • Identifying and documenting non-functional requirements and planning the offshore development effort.
  • Leading the development team, tracking ongoing work, and ensuring timely completion of action items.
  • Designing and developing applications and reporting solutions on Azure cloud platforms using various technologies.
  • Conducting data analysis, identifying data sources, and mapping data flows.
  • Developing software components and enhancing data interfaces and repositories.
  • Coordinating testing efforts, developing test cases, and conducting various testing phases to ensure requirements are met.
  • Maintaining compliance with the Bank's security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">information security and audit requirements. 1
  • Collaborating with infrastructure teams to define deployment architecture and resolve critical issues. 1
  • Managing vendor contractors to ensure timely delivery of quality solutions. 1

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in finance, Computer Science, business administration, or a related field, along with at least 6 years of relevant work experience. Industry certification or academic credentials in agile software development methodologies are essential. A strong understanding of capital markets and financial risk management is required, along with good working knowledge of Agile scrum/SAFe and Azure DevOps. Familiarity with Azure Boards and experience in developing solutions using Python, MS SQL, Oracle, Dremio, and Tableau/Power BI are also necessary. Additionally, candidates should have a solid understanding of key security concepts for cloud applications and hands-on experience with Agile development methodologies and DevOps practices.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in finance, Computer Science, business administration, or a related field. This educational foundation is crucial for understanding the technical and business aspects of the role, particularly in relation to financial systems and technology solutions.

Experience:
