Job Overview:
The Senior IT Officer, Business Solutions I, will play a crucial role in shaping and delivering user-centered digital experiences that support the World Bank Group’s essential corporate functions and processes. This position requires leveraging design thinking, prototyping, and data storytelling to translate user needs and business objectives into engaging, accessible, and impactful solutions. The Senior IT Officer will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams and business stakeholders to conduct user research, develop wireframes and prototypes, and optimize digital products through iterative testing and feedback. The role is integral to advancing the WBG’s digital transformation agenda, ensuring that digital solutions drive innovation and enhance user satisfaction.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Senior IT Officer will be responsible for a variety of tasks including conducting user research and usability testing to gather insights that inform design decisions. They will analyze user feedback and performance metrics to refine design solutions and translate user feedback from various channels into actionable product design improvements. The officer will design accessible, user-centered experiences across digital platforms, adhering to design standards to ensure consistency. They will support the development of the organization’s user experience vision, optimize user experiences through various design methodologies, and translate user needs into features for engaging digital experiences. Additionally, the officer will collaborate with business stakeholders to identify obstacles, design wireframes and prototypes, advocate for strong user experiences, facilitate design thinking workshops, develop visual design concepts, and establish continuous improvement feedback loops within the team. They will also provide guidance and coaching to junior staff, fostering a culture of innovation and accountability.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Master’s degree with 7 years of relevant experience, or a Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Certification in Agile methodologies and Experience Design is required. The ideal candidate should demonstrate the ability to design accessible, user-centered digital experiences and optimize them through iterative research and testing. Advanced proficiency in design thinking frameworks, wireframing, prototyping, UI/UX research, and persona development is essential. Candidates should also have experience in designing and scaling User Experience teams at an enterprise level, and be skilled in mobile-first design, storyboarding, interaction design, usability testing, and information architecture. Familiarity with artificial intelligence concepts as applied to design is also beneficial.

Educational Background:
A Master’s degree in a relevant field is preferred, although a Bachelor’s degree with significant experience may be acceptable. Candidates should have formal training in design thinking and user experience design, as well as certifications in Agile methodologies.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of 7 years of relevant experience for candidates with a Master’s degree, or at least 10 years for those with a Bachelor’s degree. Experience should include a strong background in user experience design, digital product development, and collaboration with cross-functional teams. Proven experience in integrating design thinking into Agile product delivery processes is also necessary.

Languages:
While specific language requirements are not detailed, proficiency in English is mandatory given the international nature of the organization. Additional language skills may be advantageous but are not explicitly required.
