Job Overview:
In this position, you will actively shape the sustainable transformation of global supply chains. You will provide strategic advice to the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) on key issues related to competitiveness, resilience, and responsibility in global supply chains, with the goal of improving living and working conditions in countries of the Global South. You will monitor international developments regarding due diligence and sustainability regulations and translate these into concrete recommendations for action. Duties and Responsibilities:
Your responsibilities will include providing strategic advice to the BMZ on overarching issues of sustainable transformation in global supply chains. You will analyze and advise on competitiveness, resilience, and supply security in global value chains. Additionally, you will provide expert advice on international regulatory processes concerning human rights and environmental due diligence obligations, such as the EU Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive (CSDDD) and national legislations. You will develop concepts that link regulatory and voluntary approaches ("Smart Mix") and create technical papers, position papers, and statements. Furthermore, you will participate in events, studies, and international dialogue formats, contributing your expertise to these discussions.

Required Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will have a completed advanced degree in economics or a related field. You should possess several years of professional experience in an internationally operating company with a focus on procurement, traceability, or logistics within the supply chain. A strong professional profile in the transformation of global supply chains is essential, particularly regarding enhancing competitiveness, resilience, and supply security, preferably in the raw materials sector. You should also have several years of work experience in supply chains in partner countries of German development cooperation, as well as experience in providing strategic advice to political actors. In-depth knowledge of international discussions on due diligence obligations, especially concerning the Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive (CSDDD) and related regulations, is required. You should be comfortable engaging in international networks and dialogues with experts and political decision-makers, demonstrating strong communication and teamwork skills.

Educational Background:
Candidates must have a completed advanced degree in economics or a related field. This educational background is crucial for understanding the complexities of global supply chains and the economic principles that underpin sustainable development.

Experience:
The position requires several years of professional experience, particularly in roles related to procurement, traceability, or logistics within international companies. Experience in strategic consulting for political actors and familiarity with international regulatory frameworks is also essential.
