Job Overview:
The position of Team Lead for the Tech Volunteers for Resilience (Tech4R) program is focused on coordinating a multidisciplinary team of volunteers who are tasked with developing digital tools and dashboards aimed at enhancing disaster resilience, particularly for children aged 10-16 in Ukraine. This role involves overseeing the creation of a mobile application that incorporates gamified learning and augmented reality (AR) to teach life-saving skills in an engaging and safe manner. The Team Lead will be responsible for ensuring that the project meets child protection and psychological safety standards while facilitating collaboration among developers, designers, educators, and psychologists. The ultimate goal is to create a child-friendly training tool that effectively prepares young individuals for potential disaster scenarios.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Team Lead will be responsible for a variety of tasks including:
  • Coordinating a team of volunteers with expertise in mobile development, AR technology, education, and psychology to ensure effective collaboration and project execution.
  • Overseeing the design and testing phases of gamified and AR-based learning modules, ensuring they are engaging and educational.
  • Ensuring that all project materials, including visuals and scripts, comply with established child protection and psychological safety standards.
  • Facilitating pilot testing of the application with educators and parents to gather feedback and make necessary adjustments.
  • Supporting the final integration of localization efforts, documentation, and handover materials to ensure the project is sustainable and accessible.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates for the Team Lead position should possess strong leadership skills and the ability to coordinate diverse teams effectively. They should have a background in project management, particularly in educational technology or digital solutions for children. Familiarity with child protection standards and psychological safety in educational contexts is essential. Additionally, candidates should demonstrate creativity and adaptability in problem-solving and decision-making processes.

Educational Background:
A relevant educational background in fields such as education, psychology, digital media, or a related discipline is required. Advanced degrees or certifications in project management or educational technology would be advantageous.

Experience:
Candidates should have prior experience in leading projects, particularly those involving technology and education. Experience working with children or in disaster resilience contexts is highly desirable. Familiarity with volunteer coordination and international collaboration will be beneficial.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory, as it is the primary language of communication within the project. Knowledge of Ukrainian or Russian would be advantageous, given the local context of the assignment.
