Job Overview:
The Accounts Payable Specialist position is crucial for supporting the growth of the business by ensuring the Accounts Payable team maintains its high level of service. The role involves working closely with a team of 10 individuals and reporting directly to the Accounting Manager. The specialist will interact with both internal stakeholders, such as budget managers, and external parties, including suppliers and banks. The position requires a proactive approach to managing accounts payable processes and contributing to the overall financial health of the organization.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The primary responsibilities of the Accounts Payable Specialist include managing accounts payables, which entails checking invoices, following up on invoice approvals, performing financial and analytical codification, recording invoices, managing due payables, and preparing payment proposals. Additionally, the specialist will maintain strong working relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders. The role also involves managing travel and expenses through Concur, providing support to staff members regarding travel and expenses, and assisting with daily administrative tasks. Furthermore, the specialist will contribute to the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and yearly financial closings, including reconciling relevant balance sheet accounts.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree in Finance or a Brevet Federal (even if in progress). A minimum of 5 to 7 years of experience in financial accounting is required, along with a good understanding of cost accounting and Swiss VAT regulations. Proficiency in IT tools, particularly MS Office, Financial Force, and Concur, is essential. Strong organizational skills are also necessary to manage the workload effectively and maintain accuracy in financial reporting.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes a Bachelor’s degree in Finance or an equivalent qualification such as a Brevet Federal. Candidates who are currently pursuing their degree may also be considered, provided they meet the other experience and skill requirements.

Experience:
The ideal candidate should have between 5 to 7 years of relevant experience in financial accounting. This experience should include a solid understanding of accounts payable processes, cost accounting, and familiarity with Swiss VAT regulations. The candidate should also demonstrate a history of managing a high volume of invoices and maintaining effective relationships with various stakeholders.

Languages:
Fluency in both spoken and written English and French is mandatory for this position. This bilingual requirement is essential for effective communication with internal teams and external partners, ensuring that all financial transactions and inquiries are handled efficiently and accurately.
