Job Overview: The Executive Operational Support Assistant (EOS) position is integral to the Operations Division of the Maastricht Upper Area Control Centre (MUAC). The role involves managing and processing flight data, ensuring compliance with established procedures and regulations. The selected candidate will be responsible for inputting, checking, and correcting flight plans, resolving any issues that arise, and adapting to changes in flight data. The position requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to work effectively in a team environment. The EOS Assistant will also be involved in discussions regarding improvements to operational systems and procedures, contributing to the overall efficiency of air traffic services. This role is essential for maintaining the high standards of safety and operational effectiveness expected in air traffic management.
Duties and Responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities of the Executive Operational Support Assistant include:
Inputting, checking, and correcting active and non-active flight plans in accordance with established procedures and temporary changes.
Resolving flight plan issues and making immediate changes to flight data as necessary.
Staying updated with flight data changes to efficiently manage assignments and adapt actions accordingly.
Contributing to discussions on changes and improvements related to EOS operations, including systems and procedures.
Familiarizing oneself with basic support tools in the OPS room to perform required tasks effectively.
Monitoring the operation of technical equipment and reporting any anomalies or deficiencies.
Acting as a simulator pilot for training purposes when required.
Executing all tasks and responsibilities as outlined in the Maastricht ATC Operations Manual (MATCOM).
Carrying out any other tasks in line with the main purpose of the job as assigned by supervisors.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must have completed secondary education, meeting the European Qualifications Framework (EQF) Level 4 or higher. Internal candidates can verify their in-house experience equivalency on the intranet. A minimum of one year of relevant experience is required, preferably acquired within the last three years. Relevant experience includes professional roles as a Flight Data Assistant or successful completion of Pre-OJT ATC Unit training by ATCO students within the last three years. Candidates should possess knowledge of Flight Data Processing & Display systems and related support systems, as well as the ability to follow well-defined procedures and understand ATC safety protocols. Proficiency in Microsoft standard office tools is also necessary. Candidates should demonstrate teamwork, problem-solving skills, effective communication, quality focus, and customer responsiveness. The ability to work in a multinational and multicultural environment is essential, along with professional conduct aligned with the corporate behaviors of the Agency.

Additional Notes: The position is open to nationals of EUROCONTROL Member States only. Successful external candidates will be offered an appointment for an undetermined period, subject to a probationary period of nine months. During this probation, candidates must provide certified copies of their degrees and complete the necessary training to obtain the flight data (FDO) endorsement. The successful candidate will be appointed at the grade specified in the vacancy notice, typically at the basic grade of the published job level. Candidates who are deemed suitable but not selected will be placed on a reserve list for similar roles, which will remain valid for one year from the application closing date.
