Job Overview:
The Human Performance Trainer position is integral to the Operations Division at the Maastricht Upper Area Control Centre (MUAC). The selected candidate will be responsible for analyzing training requirements and designing, planning, reviewing, and delivering customized human performance training for operational staff. This role requires collaboration with subject matter experts and trainers to ensure that training aligns with applicable regulations and best practices. The trainer will also serve as a coach, developing training materials and evaluating individual performance to propose personalized development plans. The position demands a proactive approach to identifying future training needs and enhancing current training methodologies, ensuring that the training provided is effective and meets the evolving demands of air traffic services.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Analyze training requirements and design tailor-made human performance training for operational staff.
  • Collaborate with internal and external key players to organize various training activities, ensuring compliance with legal provisions and quality standards.
  • Serve as a trainer and coach, developing training plans and producing relevant materials such as presentations and e-books.
  • Evaluate individual performance through progress reviews and propose personalized development plans.
  • Enhance the current portfolio of performance assessment methods and identify areas for improvement.
  • Participate in periodic performance reviews and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Produce reports on human performance activities and conduct coaching sessions.
  • Monitor and review training activities, assess future training needs, and recommend emerging training methods.
  • Provide expert advice within the area of expertise and contribute to the Training team’s activities. 1
  • Participate in the selection process of Ab-initio students. 1
  • Carry out any other tasks in line with the main purpose of the job.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess third-level studies in a relevant domain such as psychology or sociology, meeting European Qualifications Framework (EQF) Level 7 or higher. Alternatively, candidates with EQF Level 6 or higher plus one year of relevant working experience will also be considered. A coaching certificate (e.g., ICF or similar) is required. Candidates should have a minimum of three years of relevant working experience, particularly in delivering training tailored to diverse audiences. Experience in designing and delivering innovative learning solutions, training techniques, and assessment methods is essential. Familiarity with modern training design methodologies and teaching methods is also required, along with an understanding of tools and methods to assess and enhance performance in human performance. Candidates should demonstrate pedagogical skills and an impactful presentation style, with the ability to motivate and engage diverse audiences.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes third-level studies in a relevant domain such as psychology or sociology. Candidates must meet the European Qualifications Framework (EQF) Level 7 or higher, or have EQF Level 6 or higher with one year of relevant working experience. A coaching certificate is also necessary for this role, ensuring that candidates have the foundational knowledge and skills to effectively train and coach operational staff.

The position requires a minimum of three years of relevant working experience. Languages:
Proficiency in English at level C2 is mandatory for this position, as it is one of the working languages of the Agency. Additionally, proficiency in Dutch or any other European language will be considered an advantage, enhancing the candidate's ability to communicate effectively in a multicultural environment. The language proficiency levels relate to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).

Additional Notes:
The contract for this position is for a duration of five years, with the possibility of extension or conversion into an undetermined contract.
