Job Overview:
The internship-position" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">internship position is located in the International Trade and Integration Division at ECLAC in Santiago, Chile, and is expected to last between 3 to 6 months, depending on the needs of the office. The intern will engage in legal research activities that pertain to national regulations regarding digitally enabled services trade across Latin America and the Caribbean. The role is designed to provide practical experience in legal research and analysis, contributing to the intern's professional development while supporting the division's objectives. Daily responsibilities will vary based on the intern's background and the specific internship period, allowing for a tailored experience that aligns with the intern's academic and professional goals.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The intern will be responsible for a variety of tasks that include compiling, researching, and gathering information from diverse legal sources. They will collect and organize data, process statistics, and analyze and format this information for reporting purposes. The intern will also summarize relevant materials, attend and summarize conferences and meetings, and prepare input for electronic databases and the internet. Additionally, they will create charts, graphs, and other outputs to present various data effectively. The intern may also build specialized data sets tailored to specific research needs or reports, ensuring that the information is accessible and useful for the division's work.

Required Qualifications:
The minimum educational requirement for this internship is a high school diploma. Applicants must be students in their final year of a bachelor's degree program (or equivalent), or they must have completed a bachelor's, master's, or Ph.D. program. While professional work experience is not mandatory for applicants to the UN Internship Programme, a background in law or a closely related field of study is essential. Candidates must indicate which educational criteria they meet and provide proof of their qualifications with their application, with an official certificate required at a later stage.

Educational Background:
Candidates must be enrolled in or have completed a bachelor's, master's, or Ph.D. program.
