Job Overview:
The internship-position" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">internship position at UNOPS involves supporting the procurement processes under the supervision of the Procurement Specialist. The intern will assist in maintaining procurement statistics, conducting market research, preparing solicitation documents, and managing contracts. The role is designed to provide hands-on experience in procurement planning, sourcing methods, solicitation processes, and contract administration. Interns will gain exposure to procurement systems and practices, enhancing their professional skills and preparing them for future employment opportunities in the field of procurement. The internship is structured to foster learning and development, allowing interns to engage in meaningful projects that contribute to UNOPS's mission.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The intern will have a variety of responsibilities including assisting in the maintenance of procurement statistics, monitoring project procurement plans, conducting market research, preparing and issuing solicitation documents, and supporting the evaluation and award of bids. Specific tasks include preparing Requests for Quotations (RFQs), Invitations to Bid (ITBs), and Requests for Proposals (RFPs), ensuring adherence to tender timelines, preparing Bid Evaluation Reports (BERs), issuing Purchase Orders (POs) and contracts, liaising with vendors and end users, processing invoices, and coordinating with logistics for the delivery of goods and services. The intern will also be responsible for maintaining accurate records and ensuring compliance with procurement guidelines.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must submit a CV and a cover letter outlining their motivation for applying. While no previous work experience is required, having some experience in procurement or teamwork is considered an asset. Strong computer literacy and knowledge of Google Workspace are also beneficial. The position requires fluency in Serbian and English, both spoken and written, to effectively communicate and perform the duties associated with the role.

Educational Background:
Candidates must have completed secondary school or equivalent and must be enrolled in a university program such as a Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Ph.D. (or equivalent) or have graduated from such studies within three years prior to the application date. A degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Economics, Business Administration, or a similar field will be considered an asset.

Experience:
While no prior work experience is necessary for this internship, any experience related to procurement or teamwork will be advantageous. The internship is designed for individuals who are looking to gain practical experience in the field of procurement and develop their skills in a professional environment.

Languages:
Fluency in Serbian and English is mandatory, encompassing speaking, reading, and writing skills. Proficiency in additional languages may be considered a plus but is not required for this position.

Additional Notes:
This internship is a local position open to nationals of the Republic of Serbia and individuals with a valid residence/work permit. The contract duration is six months, and it is important to note that this internship is not designed to lead to a staff position with UNOPS, meaning there should be no expectation of employment at the end of the internship. Interns may be eligible for a monthly stipend from UNOPS, provided they do not receive funds from other institutions.
