Job Overview:
The Livelihoods and security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">Food Security Coordinator will play a crucial role in overseeing the design and implementation of programs aimed at enhancing livelihoods and food security for communities in Afghanistan. This position is based in Kabul and will involve close collaboration with various NRC units, including Protection, Education, ICLA, and Shelter, WASH. The Coordinator will be responsible for managing a portfolio of projects, ensuring they align with NRC's strategic objectives and donor requirements. The role requires a proactive approach to identifying needs and gaps in the community, as well as developing innovative solutions to address these challenges. The Coordinator will also be expected to provide regular updates on project progress and quality to senior management, ensuring that the needs of the most vulnerable populations are prioritized in all activities.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Livelihoods and Food Security Coordinator will have a wide range of responsibilities, including but not limited to: managing the Livelihood and Food Security project field staff, contributing to the development of strategies and project proposals, and ensuring the implementation of projects in accordance with established timelines and budgets. The Coordinator will be tasked with providing regular progress reports to the Head of Programme and Head of Operations, addressing any challenges or delays in project implementation, and coordinating with relevant partners and stakeholders to enhance the effectiveness of the programs. Additionally, the Coordinator will be responsible for ensuring that cash-based interventions are integrated into the overall strategy and that all project documentation is maintained accurately. The role will also involve capacity building of project staff and promoting the rights of internally displaced persons (IDPs) and returnees.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates for the Livelihoods and Food Security Coordinator position should possess a minimum of 5 years of experience in humanitarian or private sectors, specifically in food security and livelihood interventions. A strong understanding of the complexities and challenges faced in volatile contexts is essential. Applicants should demonstrate documented results related to the responsibilities of the position, possess strong leadership skills, and have fluency in English, both written and verbal. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, is mandatory, along with a creative and collaborative attitude. Experience working with vulnerable communities, including displaced individuals, women, and youth, is highly valued.

Educational Background:
A university degree in Business Administration, Management, Economics, Development, or Agriculture is required for this position. A Master's degree in a related field is preferred, as it may provide candidates with a deeper understanding of the complexities involved in managing livelihoods and food security programs.

Experience:
The ideal candidate should have at least 5 years of relevant experience in the humanitarian sector, particularly in food security and livelihoods. Experience in complex and volatile environments is crucial, as is a background in managing budgets and project documentation. Candidates should also have experience in capacity building and training staff, as well as in logistics and administrative management.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory for this position, both in written and verbal communication. Knowledge of local languages, specifically Dari and Pashto, is highly desirable, as it will facilitate better communication with local communities and stakeholders.

Additional Notes:
This position is full-time and based in Kabul, Afghanistan. The successful candidate will receive a monthly salary based on the NRC Afghanistan Salary Scale, along with medical coverage for staff and up to four dependents.
