Job Overview: The Associate Guarantees and Syndications Officer plays a crucial role within the Guarantees and Syndications Unit (GSU) of the Private Sector Operations Department (PSOD) at ADB. This position is essential for supporting the administration, documentation, and reporting related to cofinancing products, which include various financial instruments such as syndicated loans and third-party funds. The officer will be responsible for managing transaction support, which involves preparing and executing non-disclosure agreements and transaction documents, ensuring compliance with integrity due diligence guidelines, and monitoring adherence to internal procedures. Additionally, the officer will assist in the administration of cofinancing contracts, including drafting reports and processing payments. The role also encompasses database management and communication, where the officer will coordinate staff contributions to internal requests, prepare presentation materials, and update the cofinancing pipeline. Furthermore, the officer will be involved in system requirements and coordination, performing testing and implementation of new systems to facilitate PSOD's processing and reporting needs. This position requires a proactive approach to support the overall mission of ADB in fostering prosperity in Asia.
Duties and Responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities of the Associate Guarantees and Syndications Officer include:
Transaction Support: - Manage the preparation and execution of non-disclosure agreements. - Assist in the preparation and execution of transaction documents. - Coordinate compliance with integrity due diligence guidelines for cofinancing partners. - Monitor adherence of cofinancing processing with internal procedures. - Establish and populate virtual data rooms used during negotiations. - Assist with the preparation and sharing of project-related information with cofinancing partners.
Administration of Cofinancing Contracts: - Assist with the administration and reporting requirements under cofinancing agreements, including collecting information, drafting reports, sharing information with cofinanciers, processing payments of premiums, and calculating amounts due.
Database Management and Communications: - Coordinate GSU staff contributions to internal requests for information. - Contribute to the preparation of presentation materials for seminars, workshops, brochures, and other official publications on official and commercial cofinancing. - Update the cofinancing pipeline and databases. - Contribute to the publication of the bi-weekly newsletter, Asian Capital Markets Snapshot.
System Requirements and Coordination: - Perform testing and implementation of new systems and updated versions of existing systems to facilitate PSOD's processing, monitoring, and reporting requirements. - Contribute to the enhancement and implementation of systems and procedures, and administer computer application systems to ensure PSOD's requirements are met. - Manage and coordinate the business process continuity systems of the unit.
Required Qualifications: To qualify for the position of Associate Guarantees and Syndications Officer, candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree, preferably in business, finance, accounting, or other related areas. Advanced training in these fields is also preferred. Candidates should have at least 5 years of work experience, ideally with a background in banking or private sector operations. The role requires strong analytical skills, with the ability to conduct background research and analysis on complex tasks, collect and organize data logically, and apply appropriate computer skills for data analysis. Candidates should demonstrate good analytical thinking, the ability to prioritize tasks, and the capability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
