This internship is designed to provide practical experience relevant to the intern's field of study, although it is important to note that it does not guarantee future employment with the ILO. Interns are expected to commit fully to their roles, focusing on administrative tasks and contributing to various projects related to skills development in the Asia-Pacific region.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Interns will be involved in a variety of tasks related to skills development, including but not limited to: assisting in the development and implementation of vocational skill standards, supporting vocational training initiatives, participating in skill competitions, and aiding in skill testing and vocational qualification processes. Interns will also work closely with specialists in areas such as employment services, trainer training, and curriculum development. The role requires a proactive approach to learning and contributing to the ILO's mission in enhancing employability and productivity through skills development.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must meet specific criteria to be eligible for the internship. They should not have any close relatives currently serving in the ILO and must be applying for their first internship with the organization. Additionally, applicants should possess strong communication skills, adaptability to a multicultural environment, and the ability to work effectively in a team setting. Proficiency in computer use and video production is also required, along with the ability to communicate in Chinese to support liaison work.

Educational Background:
Applicants should be currently enrolled in a graduate degree program in fields such as labor economics, law, public administration, or international communication. Candidates must be in their final year of study or have completed their degree no more than one year prior to the internship start date.

Experience:
While prior professional experience is not mandatory, any relevant experience, particularly in information technology, will be considered advantageous. Interns are expected to bring a willingness to learn and contribute to the ILO's projects and initiatives.

Languages:
A working knowledge of English, both oral and written, is mandatory for this position. Additionally, knowledge of at least one of the ILO's official languages—Chinese, French, or Spanish—is considered an asset and will enhance the candidate's application.

  • Candidates must currently hold a valid Thai Non-ED Visa to be eligible for this internship. The ILO provides a monthly stipend based on the cost of living in Bangkok, although interns are responsible for their own travel expenses to the duty station. It is important to note that the ILO does not cover insurance costs for accidents or illnesses incurred during the internship, and candidates must secure their own insurance coverage. Furthermore, the ILO does not charge any fees during the recruitment process, and applicants should be cautious of fraudulent communications.
