This position is primarily responsible for coordinating the implementation of the organization's thought leadership and learning strategy. The role involves managing cross-departmental collaboration, overseeing key processes and systems, and ensuring that deliverables related to thought leadership products, conference engagement, and internal learning initiatives are executed in a timely manner. The Project Manager will also be tasked with ensuring logistical, contractual, and operational efficiency while contributing to the organization's visibility and knowledge management goals. This position requires a proactive approach to managing multiple deliverables under tight deadlines, with a strong emphasis on attention to detail and effective communication across various teams.
Duties and Responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities of the Project Manager include coordinating the production and implementation of the annual thought leadership strategy, tracking deliverables, managing timelines, workplans, and calendars. The role involves overseeing internal coordination for thought leadership product development, conference engagement, and learning events, ensuring alignment with program goals and organizational priorities. Additionally, the Project Manager will support administrative and contractual processes for thought leadership activities, including procurement, budgeting, and consultant engagement. Maintaining systems and tools to support quality and efficiency across thought leadership and learning activities is also a key responsibility. The Project Manager will track and report on metrics related to thought leadership outputs, reach, and engagement, contributing to regular learning and performance improvement processes. Furthermore, the role includes managing internal communication with cross-functional teams to support knowledge exchange and documentation, coordinating logistical planning for global conference participation and learning sessions, and ensuring that processes for engagement participation are applied and followed. Collaboration with other relevant teams across the organization to establish and manage knowledge management and exchange tools and processes is also essential, along with assisting with budget monitoring and resource tracking to ensure alignment with operational requirements.
Required Qualifications: The ideal candidate for this position should possess strong coordination, planning, and project management skills. They must have the ability to manage multiple deliverables under tight deadlines while maintaining attention to detail. Proficiency in managing editorial workflows, communications coordination, or knowledge product development is preferred. Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English are essential, along with experience working in cross-cultural and matrixed team environments. Familiarity with SharePoint, Teams, and knowledge management tools is also important for this role.
Educational Background: A Bachelor’s degree is required for this position, while a Master’s degree in international development, public health, communications, or a related field is preferred. This educational background will provide the necessary foundation for understanding the complexities of thought leadership and learning initiatives within the organization.
Experience: Typically, this position requires at least 5 years of experience in project or program coordination, knowledge management, or communications. Candidates should have experience designing and managing thought leadership and knowledge management initiatives, as well as building collaborative relationships and managing processes across different teams. This level of experience is crucial for effectively navigating the responsibilities of the role and contributing to the organization's goals.
Languages: The mandatory language for this position is English, with excellent written and verbal communication skills required.
