Job Overview:
The Climate Resilience for Children - Knowledge & Communication Consultant position is focused on supporting UNICEF's efforts to protect children from the impacts of climate change and environmental degradation. The consultant will manage the day-to-day knowledge management (KM) functions of the Climate Resilience Centre of Excellence for Children during its transition phase. This role involves designing and operationalizing KM systems that capture, store, and share knowledge across various functional areas. The consultant will work closely with thematic leads and the Strategic Content Consultant to curate high-value content from UNICEF's global network, ensuring that evidence and lessons learned are accessible and used to inform decisions and strengthen programming. The position is remote and spans from January 1, 2026, to December 15, 2026, emphasizing the importance of effective KM in achieving the Centre's goals and positioning UNICEF as a leader in child-sensitive climate resilience.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The consultant will be responsible for several key objectives: 1) Supporting the transition to a fully operational Centre of Excellence (CoE) by designing a comprehensive KM architecture, documenting workflows, and creating a transition plan for migrating knowledge assets. 2) Strengthening KM systems by maintaining and updating repositories, conducting quarterly reviews, and establishing a database of best practices. 3) Identifying and curating high-value content from UNICEF's global network for use in reports and advocacy. 4) Packaging and sharing knowledge through collaboration with the Strategic Content Consultant to create compelling products and updates for internal and external audiences. 5) Supporting knowledge exchange and learning by coordinating webinars and maintaining a multimedia database for storytelling and advocacy.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a minimum of 3 years of demonstrated experience in knowledge management, communication, or a related field. Strong familiarity with climate, energy, environment, and disaster risk reduction topics is essential. Proven experience in managing large datasets and knowledge repositories, as well as creating content for diverse audiences, is required. Expertise in developing newsletters, organizing webinars, and producing multimedia content for high-profile events is also necessary. Excellent writing, presentation, and communication skills are crucial, along with the ability to collaborate effectively with individuals from diverse cultural and national backgrounds. Prior experience with a UN agency is highly desirable.

Educational Background:
An advanced degree in Communication, Environmental Studies, International Affairs, or a closely related field is required for this position. This educational background will provide the necessary knowledge and skills to effectively manage knowledge and communication related to climate resilience and children's rights.

Experience:
