Job Overview: The Business DevelopmentIntern will play a crucial role in supporting the Business Development Unit within the Banking Department of the EBRD. This position is designed to assist in the promotion of the Bank's capabilities to clients, focusing on identifying new business opportunities and enhancing the Bank's visibility. The intern will work closely with Business Development managers to coordinate marketing activities, prepare comprehensive marketing materials, and conduct research to support business development initiatives. The role requires a strategic approach to planning and execution, as well as the ability to innovate in the delivery of business development products and services. The intern will also be involved in organizing business development events and maintaining essential marketing databases, ensuring that the information is accessible and up-to-date.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Support Business Development managers in promoting the Bank's capabilities and identifying new business opportunities.
Coordinate marketing business development visits for senior management, including logistical arrangements and preparation of materials.
Conduct research and prepare comprehensive marketing materials such as Briefing Packs and presentations.
Assist in organizing business development events, including the Business Connect programme at the EBRD Annual Meetings.
Maintain and update essential marketing materials and databases, ensuring quality and accessibility of information.
Respond to information requests in a timely manner and support the overall business development strategy of the Bank.
Required Qualifications:
A Master’s degree in Business Administration or Finance is required.
Experience in corporate and/or business development, marketing, and research from a leading investment, merchant, or commercial organization is essential.
Preferred but not required: 1-2 years of experience in corporate, business, and/or research roles within a reputable financial institution.
A good understanding of finance and banking principles is necessary, along with basic knowledge of key marketing principles.
Previous experience with CRM platforms and intelligence platforms such as Orbis, FDI Markets, Factiva, and MergerMarket is highly desirable.
A positive demeanor, self-driven attitude, and ability to establish client relationships are crucial.
Educational Background: Candidates must possess a Master’s degree in Business Administration or Finance. This educational background is essential to ensure that the intern has the necessary theoretical knowledge and analytical skills to perform effectively in the role.
Experience: The ideal candidate should have 1-2 years of relevant experience in corporate, business development, or research roles, preferably within a reputable financial institution. This experience will provide the intern with a solid foundation in the principles of business development and marketing, as well as an understanding of the financial sector.
Languages: Fluency in English is mandatory, as it is the primary language of communication within the organization. Knowledge of additional languages would be considered an asset, particularly those relevant to the regions in which the EBRD operates.
