Job Overview:
The Individual Contractor will be responsible for organizing a successful two-day virtual workshop across four Caribbean countries: Belize, The Bahamas, Jamaica, and St Vincent and the Grenadines. The primary goal of this role is to enhance the resilience of infrastructure assets and large-scale infrastructure investments through the implementation of risk-informed infrastructure asset management policies and practices. The contractor will work closely with the Senior Economic Affairs Officer and will be involved in various aspects of workshop preparation, including coordinating meetings, drafting agendas, preparing materials, and ensuring effective communication with participants. The role requires a proactive approach to facilitate engagement and interactivity during the workshops, as well as the ability to provide logistical and IT support to instructors and panelists. The contractor will also be responsible for collecting feedback and conducting follow-up activities post-workshop to ensure continuous improvement and effectiveness of the training provided.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the Individual Contractor include:
  • Assisting in the coordination of four customized two-day virtual sensitization workshops.
  • Organizing virtual meetings with resource persons and instructors in preparation for the workshops.
  • Drafting agendas and preparing workshop materials, ensuring they are well-formatted and clear.
  • Supporting instructors in developing workshop content, including converting information into infographics and researching current trends in infrastructure asset management.
  • Designing interactive exercises for participants to enhance engagement during the workshops.
  • Providing constructive feedback on teaching materials to improve quality and visual appeal.
  • Maintaining an up-to-date list of participants and managing communication before and after the workshops.
  • Drafting promotional materials such as news articles and social media posts to raise awareness about the workshops.
  • Preparing and distributing pre-workshop surveys to gather insights from prospective participants. 1
  • Creating a run-of-show document to ensure smooth execution of the workshops. 1

Required Qualifications:
The required qualifications for this position include a first-level university degree in economics, business administration, international relations, or a related field. Additionally, candidates must have a minimum of one year of work experience in general office support and/or meeting services. Proficiency in the Microsoft Suite, particularly Excel and PowerPoint, is essential. Experience in supporting conferences and video conferences, especially with platforms such as MS Teams, Zoom, or Webex, is also required. Furthermore, having a UN certification in Infrastructure Asset Management (IAM) is considered desirable, indicating a specialized understanding of the field.

Educational Background:
Candidates must possess a first-level university degree in a relevant field such as economics, business administration, or international relations. This educational background is crucial as it provides the foundational knowledge necessary for understanding the complexities of international tax cooperation and infrastructure asset management, which are central to the responsibilities of the role.

Experience:
