In July 2010, the United Nations General Assembly created UN Women, the United Nations Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women. In doing so, UN Member States took an historic step in accelerating the Organization’s goals on gender equality and the empowerment of women. The creation of UN Women came about as part of the UN reform agenda, bringing together resources and mandates for greater impact. Job Overview:
The Monitoring, Reporting and Coordination Analyst plays a crucial role in the design, planning, and implementation of monitoring, evaluation, and reporting systems that track progress toward strategic and program targets. This position requires the Analyst to provide guidance and support to ensure that monitoring and evaluation are integrated into program formulation. The Analyst will work closely with program teams to standardize data collection and analysis, monitor results against country-level targets, and facilitate reporting to both internal and external audiences. The role also involves supporting inter-agency coordination processes and ensuring that UN Women’s programs align with the broader goals of gender equality and women's empowerment.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Provide technical inputs to program formulation, ensuring that monitoring, evaluation, and reporting are incorporated into the development of monitoring indicators, calendars, and plans.
  • Support the monitoring and tracking of results against country-level targets and UN Women’s Strategic Plan by coordinating data collection and analysis across programs.
  • Facilitate the reporting of results to internal and external audiences, ensuring compliance with reporting requirements and deadlines.
  • Provide technical support for the implementation of UN Women’s Evaluation Policy, including coordinating evaluations and drafting Terms of Reference.
  • Contribute to knowledge and capacity building by disseminating good practices and developing training materials.
  • Support inter-agency coordination by providing technical inputs and secretariat support to UN Women-led mechanisms.
  • Perform other duties as necessary for the efficient functioning of the office.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a strong understanding of program formulation, implementation, and Results-Based Management. They should have good knowledge of monitoring and evaluation, including evaluation design, data collection, and reporting. The ability to synthesize program performance data and produce analytical reports is essential. Strong analytical and report writing skills are required, along with experience in coordinating inter-agency and multi-stakeholder processes.

Educational Background:
A Master’s degree or equivalent in social sciences, political science, economics, human rights, gender/women’s studies, international development, or a related field is required. Alternatively, a first-level university degree combined with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced degree. A project/programme management certification (such as PMP®, PRINCE2®, or MSP®) would be an added advantage.

Experience:
At least 2 years of relevant work experience in development program/project implementation, coordination, monitoring and evaluation, donor reporting, and capacity building is required. Candidates should demonstrate an understanding of Results-Based Management and have experience using computers and office software packages, as well as web-based management systems. Experience in coordinating with government agencies and/or donors is desirable.

Languages:
Fluency in English is required, along with fluency in Bosnian/Croatian/Serbian. These language skills are essential for effective communication and reporting within the role.
