Job Overview:
The Communications Assistant (Digital Designer) plays a crucial role in supporting the media team at ESCWA by producing high-quality visual content. This position is essential for enhancing the communication efforts of the organization, particularly in creating animated videos and other digital media that align with ESCWA's branding and visual identity. The incumbent will collaborate closely with the communication team to develop creative concepts and translate them into engaging visuals for various platforms, including social media. The role requires a blend of artistic talent and technical skills, as the Communications Assistant will be responsible for both the design and animation of motion graphics, as well as editing multimedia projects. This position is expected to last for six months, during which the incumbent will contribute significantly to the communication strategies of ESCWA.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Communications Assistant (Digital Designer) will have a range of responsibilities, including but not limited to: producing animated videos that effectively communicate ESCWA's messages; collaborating with the communication team to brainstorm and develop creative concepts; editing photos to ensure they align with ESCWA's visual identity and UN branding guidelines; designing and animating motion graphics for videos; utilizing software such as Adobe Premiere and AfterEffects for multimedia video projects; creating still visuals using Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator for social media content; assisting in the post-production of information spots and wrap-up videos; supporting the photographer in producing and editing visual assets; conducting interviews and creating short video messages with senior officials and experts; working alongside Public Information Assistants on various digital design tasks; and performing any other duties as required by the team.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s Degree in art communication, digital design, graphic design, or a related field. It is mandatory for all applicants to submit a copy of their educational degree, as incomplete applications will not be considered. Additionally, a minimum of ten years of professional experience in digital and motion graphics design is required, with a strong emphasis on documentary work and storytelling. Experience in an international setting is desirable, which indicates a preference for candidates who have worked in diverse cultural environments and understand the nuances of international communication.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes a Bachelor’s Degree in art communication, digital design, graphic design, or a closely related field.
