Job Overview:
The internship-programme" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">Internship Programme at IOM is designed to attract talented students and recent graduates who have a keen interest in migration-related issues and IOM's activities. Interns are expected to be between 20 and 36 years old and should have less than two years of relevant work experience. The programme aims to provide interns with practical experience in areas relevant to IOM's work, including data analysis, project implementation, and knowledge management. Interns will work under the supervision of the Programme Support Officer and will have the opportunity to engage in innovative projects that enhance IOM's reporting and communication strategies. The internship is structured to facilitate learning and professional development, with a focus on digital transformation and the use of artificial intelligence in migration programming.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Interns will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including designing innovative reporting tools such as dashboards and infographics, exploring the use of AI and digital tools to improve workflows, assisting in project implementation and reporting, and supporting the development of internal knowledge management systems. They will conduct desk research to identify emerging digital solutions relevant to migration and development, provide technical and creative input for presentations and reports, and contribute to donor and partner communications. Interns will also participate in training components that cover IOM's mandate, innovation in digital transformation, data analysis and visualization, and professional development skills.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must demonstrate a specific interest in IOM's work and have relevant academic backgrounds. They should be enrolled in their final year of a bachelor's degree or have graduated within the last 12 months. Additionally, candidates should possess strong analytical and research skills, proficiency in MS Office, and familiarity with data visualization tools. A basic understanding of AI tools is also beneficial. Good graphic design skills and the ability to communicate effectively in a multicultural environment are highly valued.

Educational Background:
Candidates should have completed up to three years of university education in fields such as Data Science, Computer Science, Information Technology, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, International Relations, Development Studies, Social Sciences, Communications, Media, or Graphic/Visual Design. This educational background will provide the necessary foundation for the tasks and responsibilities expected of interns at IOM.

Experience:
While no full-time work experience is required, relevant part-time experience in related fields is considered an advantage. Interns should be able to demonstrate their ability to think innovatively and propose non-traditional solutions to challenges faced in the migration sector.

Languages:
Fluency in English, Russian, and Tajik is mandatory for this position. IOM's official languages include English, French, and Spanish, and proficiency in these languages may be evaluated during the selection process through written and/or oral assessments. Strong communication skills in these languages are essential for effective collaboration and reporting.

Additional Notes:
The internship is subject to funding confirmation and will require certification of medical fitness for appointment, as well as verification of residency and necessary government authorizations. Interns may receive a small monthly stipend to help offset costs, but those receiving financial support from their university or other sponsoring bodies will not be eligible for this stipend. IOM provides coverage for occupational accidents and illnesses but does not offer medical insurance for non-occupational issues. Interns are responsible for their own medical insurance and must provide proof of coverage before starting work. IOM maintains a zero-tolerance policy against misconduct and does not charge any fees during the recruitment process.
