Duties and Responsibilities: The intern will be responsible for a range of duties aimed at supporting the IT asset management process. These include participating in daily IT asset management tasks to ensure accurate records and tracking of IT assets. The intern will support the laptop decommissioning process, which involves data cleaning, wiping, and the removal of hardware components. Additionally, the intern will prepare computers for enrollment in the Microsoft Intune platform and coordinate with users for the replacement and distribution of computers. Monitoring and documenting computer distribution and deployment using Excel tools will also be part of the responsibilities. The intern will perform second-level desktop troubleshooting in collaboration with Help Desk staff and provide technical advice and assistance to clients as required. Furthermore, the intern will prepare, maintain, and update files (both electronic and paper) and internal databases related to IT assets, draft and update desktop configuration documentation and reports, and perform other related duties as required in support of IT operations.
Required Qualifications: To qualify for the United Nations Secretariat internship programme, applicants must be enrolled in the final academic year of a first-level university degree programme (Bachelor's degree or equivalent) or in a graduate school programme (Master's degree or equivalent) at the time of submission. Alternatively, applicants may have completed one of the aforementioned academic degrees. Preferred fields of study include computer sciences, business administration, procurement, or related areas. Additionally, candidates should possess knowledge of IT asset management processes and lifecycle management, practical knowledge of hardware handling, data sanitization, and software installation.
