Job Overview:
The Senior ICT Officer (Data & AI Product Management) will play a pivotal role in the Information and Communications Technology (ICT) Division of IOM. This position is crucial for enabling AI-driven digital transformation within the organization. The officer will work under the supervision of the Director of the ICT Department and the Deputy Director of Digital and Business Enablement. The primary functions include aligning technology initiatives with business goals, embedding data and AI capabilities, and fostering continuous innovation to enhance operational outcomes. The officer will be responsible for maximizing the usage of existing internal AI solutions, collaborating with business units to identify automation opportunities, and developing AI-driven workflows to optimize operations. Furthermore, the role involves evaluating external AI solutions, conducting feasibility studies, and integrating AI tools into business areas. The officer will also provide training on AI tools, support the development of AI Minimum Viable Products (MVPs), and work closely with the internal change team to facilitate the transition to an AI-enabled enterprise.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the Senior ICT Officer include: enhancing and maximizing the usage of existing internal AI solutions across all business units; collaborating with business units to identify automation and AI opportunities; developing AI-driven workflows; evaluating external AI solutions and conducting feasibility studies; collaborating with Managed Service Providers for AI implementation; providing training on AI tools; supporting the development team with rapid prototyping and Agile development of AI MVPs; working with the internal change team to embed AI literacy; leading the design and delivery of AI-enabled MVPs; defining and maintaining a backlog of high-value prototype opportunities; and performing any other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:
The position requires a Master’s degree in Political or Social Science, Economics, International Relations, Business Administration, or a related field from an accredited institution, along with five years of relevant professional experience. Alternatively, a University degree in the same fields with seven years of relevant experience is acceptable. Candidates should possess strong oral and written communication skills, a client-service attitude, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Professional integrity, flexibility, and self-motivation are essential, along with experience in working within diverse teams and managing competing priorities.

Educational Background:
Candidates must hold a Master’s degree in relevant fields such as Political or Social Science, Economics, International Relations, or Business Administration from an accredited academic institution. Alternatively, a University degree in the same fields with additional years of relevant experience is acceptable. Accredited Universities are those listed in the UNESCO World Higher Education Database.

Experience:
A minimum of five years of relevant experience is required, particularly in providing technical, change management, and learning support in a business-related area. Experience in international organizations or multinational companies is preferred. Familiarity with NGO, Development Agency, or UN processes is advantageous. Candidates should demonstrate strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.

Languages:
Fluency in English is required for this position, both oral and written. Working knowledge of French, Spanish, or any official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, or Russian) is considered an advantage. Proficiency in the required languages will be specifically evaluated during the selection process, which may include written and/or oral assessments.

Additional Notes:
The contract type for this position is Special Short term ungraded, with an initial duration of 9 months and the possibility of extension. The position is classified at the UG grade level. Internationally recruited professional staff are required to be mobile, and candidates who are nationals of the duty station's country cannot be considered eligible.
