Job Overview: The Officer, Leadership Advising, will play a crucial role as a strategic advisor on the CEO Strategy Team (CST). This position is essential in ensuring that the CEO, Mark Suzman, is equipped with the necessary information to drive impactful programmatic initiatives. The Officer will support and advise the CEO across various program areas and collaborate with teams on their engagements with him. The role requires a proactive approach to tracking and advising on key programmatic and strategy developments, providing analytical support, and synthesizing complex information for effective communication. The Officer will also maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders, serve as a resource for program teams, and contribute to the overall strategic direction of the Foundation.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Officer will be responsible for tracking and advising the CEO on significant programmatic and strategy developments. This includes advising and supporting the CEO on select program strategies, synthesizing content, and providing analytical support to prepare him for effective internal and external engagements. The Officer will maintain relationships with assigned Program Strategy Teams (PSTs) and key internal and external staff, establishing new relationships as necessary to deepen understanding of programmatic issues. Additionally, the Officer will provide support and advice to program teams on their engagement with the CEO, helping to define agendas and recommend content. The role also involves core operational support and project management for internal team efforts, maintaining knowledge management processes, and contributing to the Foundation Strategy Office's initiatives. The Officer will participate in driving the culture of dedication and embodying the Foundation's values, while also leading critical strategy projects as needed.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a strong understanding of the Foundation’s Global Policy & Advocacy, US programs, regional offices, and Global Development strategies, or demonstrate the ability to learn these areas quickly. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential, with the ability to synthesize information effectively. Candidates should have experience briefing senior-level executives or staff, and be strategic problem solvers capable of using both quantitative and qualitative data to inform decision-making. Strong interpersonal skills are necessary to build collaborative relationships and influence a diverse range of individuals. The ability to manage multiple competing demands in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail is crucial. Educational Background: A bachelor’s degree or equivalent demonstrated experience is required for this position.
