Job Overview: The ICT Officer (Business Analysis) will play a crucial role in aligning Migration Data Management Systems with Business Processes. This position involves close collaboration with various stakeholders, including subject matter experts and the Business Analyst team. The officer will be responsible for compiling business functional requirements, performing preliminary analyses, and recommending improvements to meet business needs. The role also includes ensuring data integrity, coordinating reporting needs, and drafting statistical reports. The officer will guide users on generating reports and maintain updated look-up lists in accordance with relevant governing bodies. This position requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to communicate complex technical information effectively.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Compile business functional requirements from IOM Departments, user community, and subject matter experts by reviewing user feedback and attending meetings and workshops.
Perform preliminary analysis of business functional requirements and recommend new functionalities or improvements to existing functionalities.
Participate in the design/redesign of solutions for business functional requirements in consultation with technical and development teams.
Review the quality of data recorded in Movement systems and define statuses throughout the data collection process to maintain data integrity.
Work with SMEs and stakeholders to understand business needs and propose streamlined workflows during requirements analysis.
Coordinate reporting needs for all Air Movement Assistance and provide guidance on standard reporting criteria.
Collaborate with Database administrators to define data requirements for Movement reporting.
Draft ad-hoc statistical reports for Country Offices and other HQ Departments.
Support the development and maintenance of statistical reports using SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) and Power BI. 1
Guide and train users on generating reports and using dashboards and visualization tools. 1
Consolidate data for non-Air Movements for overall organizational reporting. 1
Ensure look-up lists for various systems are updated according to governing bodies. 1
Define parameters for current programs and shape historical data for ease of manipulation in reports. 1
Assist in compiling Movement data across multiple platforms. 1
Draft end-to-end business scenarios for testing and conduct unit and system testing. 1
Participate in the preparation and implementation of new system releases and change management activities. 1
Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
Master’s degree in Business Administration, Project Management, Statistics, Information Management, or a related field with two years of relevant professional experience; or a University degree in the above fields with four years of relevant professional experience.
Professional certification in PMP or PRINCE 2 methodologies is an advantage.
Professional certification in ITIL and agile methodologies is an advantage.
Advanced knowledge and experience with computerized information systems are essential.
Educational Background: Candidates must possess a Master’s degree in Business Administration, Project Management, Statistics, Information Management, or a related field from an accredited academic institution. Alternatively, a University degree in the aforementioned fields with four years of relevant professional experience is acceptable. Certifications in business analysis, project management methodologies, and ITIL or agile methodologies are highly regarded.
Experience: Candidates should have experience in determining the needs and requirements of various stakeholders, creating documentation such as business case documentation, and working with agile development methodologies. Experience with agile planning tools like Jira and a strong understanding of computerized information systems are essential. Familiarity with the MiMOSA Case management system is an added advantage.
Languages: Fluency in English is required for this position, both oral and written. Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, or Spanish) is considered an advantage. Proficiency in required languages will be evaluated during the selection process, which may include written and/or oral assessments.
Additional Notes: This position is a special short-term contract for up to 9 months, with an initial duration of 6 months. The recruitment process is expedited and open only to internal candidates and former IOM staff members who were separated in the last 12 months. Candidates who are nationals of the duty station's country cannot be considered eligible.
