Job Overview:
The Manager, Direct Response Marketing plays a crucial role in the strategic planning and development of direct mail and online marketing fundraising initiatives for WWF. This position is responsible for managing a significant budget, overseeing revenue generation, and ensuring that marketing strategies align with the organization's broader goals. The Manager will work closely with various teams, including Data Analysis, Digital Fundraising, and Marketing, to optimize fundraising efforts and enhance donor engagement. The role also involves evaluating campaign performance, adjusting strategies based on data insights, and implementing innovative approaches to attract new donors while maximizing the lifetime value of existing supporters. The position is designed for someone who is not only skilled in direct response marketing but also passionate about conservation and committed to WWF's mission.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Manager will oversee the direct mail acquisition program, which includes creative development, artwork review, proofing, data merges, list exchanges, and expense management of campaigns. They will manage marketing efforts across both direct mail and online channels, collaborating closely with the Digital Fundraising team to optimize strategies that encourage direct mail donors to increase their contributions. The Manager will ensure that the direct mail acquisition program aligns with the overall Membership & Marketing strategy, tracking and reporting on key performance indicators (KPIs). They will liaise with external vendors for analysis, production, and data management to keep programs on track. Additionally, the Manager will develop innovative campaigns to acquire new donors, utilizing QR codes and URLs to enhance engagement. They will also prepare and monitor the annual budget for the direct response mail acquisition program, conduct performance analysis, and share insights with the team to inform decision-making. Staying updated on industry trends and best practices in direct mail marketing will be essential, as will participating in team initiatives and meetings.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, along with at least 8 years of experience in direct mail and online fundraising and acquisition. Direct mail production experience is a plus. Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential, as is the ability to adapt communication styles to effectively engage with diverse audiences. The ideal candidate will have excellent project management, analytical, and organizational skills, with a proven ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment. Attention to detail and the ability to meet tight deadlines are critical. A willingness to learn new technologies and a curiosity about generational preferences in direct mail are also important. Familiarity with Excel, Blackbaud CRM, and eCRM systems like Engaging Networks is advantageous. Candidates should demonstrate a commitment to fostering a culture of inclusion and collaboration within teams.

Educational Background:
A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field is required, with a strong preference for candidates who have additional qualifications or certifications related to marketing, fundraising, or nonprofit management. Equivalent experience in a related field may also be considered in lieu of a formal degree.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of 8 years of experience in direct mail and online fundraising, with a strong emphasis on acquisition strategies. Candidates should have a proven track record of managing successful fundraising campaigns and a deep understanding of direct mail marketing best practices. Experience in project management and the ability to analyze and interpret data to inform strategic decisions are also essential.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory, with excellent verbal and written communication skills. Additional language skills may be considered an asset, particularly in regions where WWF operates, but are not explicitly required for this position.

Additional Notes:
This position offers a salary range of $99,800 to $143,500 and is eligible for 100% remote work.
