Job Overview:
The Human Resources Associate position is a specialized role within the FAO Shared Services Centre located in Budapest, Hungary. This role is crucial for providing high-level human resources support and ensuring the quality, transparency, and consistency of HR functions and processes. The incumbent will coordinate various HR activities, requiring in-depth knowledge of HR policies and procedures. The position demands a proactive approach, as the associate will work autonomously while also supervising and guiding other HR support staff. The role involves maintaining effective working relationships with managers and staff across the organization, ensuring that HR services meet client needs and expectations.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Human Resources Associate will be responsible for a wide range of duties, including but not limited to: coordinating the delivery of comprehensive HR support services, ensuring compliance with relevant policies and regulations, and maintaining transparency in transactions. The associate will handle personnel actions such as appointments, extensions, and transfers, while also processing requests and advising staff on entitlements. Additionally, the role involves managing complex cases, conducting research and analysis on employment conditions, and drafting correspondence for HR Officers. The associate will also supervise junior HR staff, recommend improvements to HR systems, and assist in drafting HR policy papers and developing training programs. Furthermore, the incumbent will take a lead role in testing corporate ERP software and ensuring that HR procedures align with organizational policies.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a secondary school education and have a minimum of five years of relevant experience in administrative and human resources support work. A working knowledge of English at proficiency level C is required, along with very good knowledge of MS Office applications and office technology. Candidates must also be nationals of Hungary or possess a valid visa/work permit and reside within commuting distance of Budapest.

Educational Background:
The minimum educational requirement for this position is a secondary school education. Additional qualifications or certifications in human resources management or related fields may be advantageous but are not explicitly required.

Experience:
Candidates should have at least five years of relevant experience in administrative and human resources support work. This experience should include familiarity with HR processes and the ability to handle complex personnel issues effectively. Experience in a global service center or similar environment is desirable.

Languages:
A working knowledge of English at proficiency level C is mandatory for this position. Additionally, intermediate proficiency (level B) in one of the other official languages of the FAO, such as Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, or Spanish, is considered a desirable qualification.
