Job Overview: The Technical Advisor will join the Global Vaccines Delivery team at CHAI, focusing on improving immunization coverage and equity through new vaccine introductions and enhanced service delivery across various focus countries. Duties and Responsibilities: Key responsibilities include providing strategic support for the design and implementation of in-country work to improve immunization coverage, contributing to the planning and execution of high-impact projects, diagnosing service delivery bottlenecks, and developing strategies for improvement. The advisor will support governments in planning and executing new vaccine introductions, assess the effectiveness of immunization strategies, and disseminate lessons learned to inform global practices. Additionally, the role involves building relationships with key stakeholders, supporting program and grant management, and contributing to the overall effectiveness of CHAI's vaccines program.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree, with a preference for a Master's degree in business, finance, or health science, along with at least 5 years of relevant professional experience. Exceptional problem-solving and analytical skills are required, along with excellent interpersonal and cross-cultural communication abilities. The ability to work independently and manage competing priorities is essential, as is knowledge of vaccines and health systems in low- and middle-income countries. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel or other data-analysis tools is necessary, and candidates should have strong communication skills for diverse audiences.
Educational Background: A Bachelor's degree is required, with a preference for candidates holding a Master's degree in a relevant field such as business, finance, or health science. This educational background is essential for understanding the complexities of health systems and the financial aspects of vaccine delivery and public health initiatives.
Experience: Candidates should have at least 5 years of relevant professional experience, ideally in public or private sectors related to health systems, vaccines, or health financing. Experience working with governments and in low- and middle-income countries, particularly in Sub-Saharan Africa, is highly advantageous. The role requires a proven track record of building effective working relationships and managing projects in challenging environments.
Languages: Proficiency in English is mandatory, and professional proficiency in a second language, such as French, is advantageous to support engagement with vaccine country programs. Additional Notes: The position is flexible and may be based in one of CHAI's program countries, subject to leadership approval and work authorization. The role may require extensive travel (at least 35% of the time) to focus countries and other locations as needed.
