Job Overview: The Investment Analyst, Energy Transition will play a crucial role in providing technical and analytical support for the finance components of various initiatives within the Energy Transition department. This position requires the analyst to undertake financial modeling, conduct investment and risk analyses, research energy finance trends, support pipeline development, and contribute to investor matchmaking activities. The role is integral to supporting the development of comprehensive Energy Transition and Investment Plans (ETIPs) and the Renewable Energy Manufacturing Initiative (REMI), particularly in developing and emerging economies. The analyst will engage with various stakeholders, including governments, development finance institutions, and private sector investors, to mobilize capital for clean energy projects and programs, thereby contributing to the achievement of Sustainable Development Goals (SDG-7 and SDG-13).
Duties and Responsibilities: The Investment Analyst will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including:
Supporting the development of financial models and analyses to assess project viability and bankability for ETIPs and REMI.
Contributing to the drafting of financial analyses, investment briefs, and policy recommendations tailored for emerging markets in Africa and Asia.
Researching and tracking global financing trends, instruments, and mechanisms relevant to the clean energy transition.
Investigating innovative financing mechanisms, including blended and local currency financing instruments and public financing mechanisms, to accelerate energy transition investments.
Supporting investor and stakeholder engagement activities, including matchmaking between project developers and potential investors.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a University Degree (Bachelors Equivalent) in Finance, Economics, Energy Finance, Business Administration, or a related field. An Advanced University Degree (Masters Degree or equivalent) in these fields is considered an asset and may compensate for some years of experience. Professional certification in analysis" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">financial analysis, investment appraisal, or project finance is also advantageous. Additionally, candidates should have a minimum of 2 years of continuous experience in financial analysis, investment appraisal, or project finance, preferably within the energy sector. Educational Background: The educational background required for this position includes a University Degree (Bachelors Equivalent) in Finance, Economics, Energy Finance, Business Administration, or a related field. An Advanced University Degree (Masters Degree or equivalent) is an asset and may compensate for some years of experience.
