Job Overview:
This position is designed for students pursuing a degree in Industrial Engineering with a focus on Facility Management at the Duale Hochschule Baden-Württemberg (DHBW) Stuttgart, set to commence in 202
  • The program combines theoretical studies with practical training at GIZ, leading to an internationally recognized Bachelor of Engineering (B.Eng.) degree. The training will take place over six semesters, alternating between academic coursework and hands-on experience within the organization. Students will engage with topics such as building and construction technology, digitalization, facility management processes, facility service management, energy and environmental management, as well as commercial fundamentals. A significant component of the training includes a three-month assignment in one of GIZ's construction and infrastructure projects abroad, providing students with firsthand experience of project work in an international context.

Duties and Responsibilities:
As a student in this program, you will be expected to actively participate in both your academic studies and practical training. Your responsibilities will include learning about and working on various aspects of facility management, including the management and optimization of GIZ's buildings, spaces, and workplaces at German locations. You will also be involved in the preparation and management of GIZ properties, contributing to the overall success of the organization through effective facility management practices. Additionally, you will be required to complete assignments that enhance your understanding of the interplay between theoretical knowledge and practical application in real-world scenarios.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a general higher education entrance qualification (Abitur) with a very good to good average or a very good subject-specific higher education entrance qualification. Alternatively, a technical college entrance qualification with a Delta examination is acceptable. A strong interest in industrial engineering and facility management is essential, along with good performance in mathematics and physics. Candidates should demonstrate a willingness to be mobile and flexible, possess a strong service orientation, and have a high degree of initiative and self-organization. Fluency in German and English, both written and spoken, is mandatory, while basic knowledge of French is desirable. An interest in intercultural issues is also important, and a completed vocational training in a trade is considered an advantage.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes a general higher education entrance qualification (Abitur) or a subject-specific higher education entrance qualification with a strong academic record. Candidates should also meet the admission requirements set by the DHBW Stuttgart for the Industrial Engineering program with a focus on Facility Management.

Experience:
