Job Overview:
This internship-position" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">internship position is designed to support the Land, Housing and Shelter Section (LHSS) within the Urban Practices Branch of UN-Habitat. The intern will work closely with the Associate Programme Officer and other colleagues in the LHSS to contribute to the development of norms and standards related to land and housing. The role involves engaging in various tasks that promote the equitable supply of serviced land, effective land management systems, and the protection of security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security of tenure. The intern will also assist in the progressive achievement of universal access to adequate housing and participate in urban regeneration and slum upgrading initiatives. Duties and Responsibilities:
The intern's daily responsibilities will vary based on their background and the specific office they are assigned to. Key duties include: developing and formatting knowledge products such as policy briefs and case studies; drafting communication materials for advocacy and knowledge sharing; assisting in media monitoring and growing the communication channels' audience; summarizing complex data into accessible content; updating knowledge management platforms; conducting research and data analysis related to UN-Habitat's projects; supporting advocacy campaigns; preparing documents for meetings and events; mapping relevant national and international events; monitoring project activities; attending meetings and preparing summaries; and performing other related tasks as needed to support the LHSS work plan.

Required Qualifications:
Applicants must meet one of the following criteria: be enrolled in a graduate program, be in the final year of a bachelor's degree program, or have graduated with a relevant degree. Candidates should be proficient in standard software applications, particularly Microsoft Office Suite. A strong interest in the work of the United Nations and a commitment to its ideals are essential. Additionally, candidates should demonstrate the ability to interact successfully with individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds and possess a willingness to understand differing opinions. Preferred fields of study include Journalism, Communication, Social Sciences, Political Sciences, Gender Studies, International Development, and related areas. Professional work experience is not required, but relevant academic background is necessary.

Educational Background:
Candidates must be enrolled in or have completed a relevant degree program, such as a bachelor's, master's, or Ph.D. in fields related to urban studies, social sciences, or international development. Proof of enrollment or graduation will be required during the application process. The internship is particularly suited for students in their final year of study, as well as recent graduates who are looking to gain practical experience in the field of land and housing policy.

Experience:
While professional work experience is not mandatory for this internship, candidates with experience in research, technical writing, knowledge management, or project development will be viewed favorably. Languages:
