Job Posting Organization:
The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) is an international organization that works to promote the peaceful use of nuclear energy and to prevent its use for military purposes. Established in 1957, the IAEA has a mission to foster the exchange of scientific and technical information and the dissemination of knowledge in the nuclear field among its Member States. The organization operates in multiple countries around the world, providing a platform of services that supports the successful delivery of its scientific and technical programs. The IAEA employs a diverse workforce and is committed to maintaining high ethical standards in its operations.

Job Overview:
The IAEA is seeking to build a talent pipeline for qualified Pre-press Operators, Printing Operators, and Binding Operators. These roles are crucial for the production of IAEA publications and documents in all six official IAEA languages. The positions will involve working closely with the Publishing Section to ensure that all printed materials meet the organization's high standards for quality and accuracy. Candidates will be expected to demonstrate their technical skills in pre-press operations, printing processes, and binding techniques, contributing to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the IAEA's publishing efforts. This is an opportunity for individuals interested in freelance employment with the IAEA, with the potential for temporary office-based work.

Duties and Responsibilities:
As a Pre-press Operator, the incumbent will be responsible for preparing files for printing, ensuring that all technical specifications are met, and maintaining quality control throughout the pre-press process. This includes troubleshooting issues with electronic files, preparing PDF files for mass production, and maintaining accurate records of work done. The Printing Operator will operate digital printing equipment, perform quality checks, and ensure that all printing processes adhere to safety guidelines. The Binding Operator will prepare and operate binding equipment, ensuring that all bound publications meet the required standards. Each role requires collaboration with team members and adherence to the IAEA's printing standards.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must have completed secondary education and possess five years of continuous relevant working experience in their respective fields. For Pre-press Operators, in-depth knowledge of specialized printing production software, such as Adobe Creative Suite and PitStop, is essential. Printing Operators should have experience with modern offset and digital printing equipment, while Binding Operators must be familiar with high-volume bookbinding processes. All candidates must demonstrate a good command of English, both oral and written, and may be required to undergo testing as part of the recruitment process.

Educational Background:
A completed secondary education is required for all positions. This foundational education is essential for understanding the technical aspects of printing and binding operations, as well as for effective communication within the team and with clients.

Experience:
Candidates should have a minimum of five years of continuous relevant working experience in their respective areas of expertise. This experience should be in a printing or publishing environment, where they have developed the necessary skills and knowledge to perform the duties required of the Pre-press, Printing, or Binding Operators.

Languages:
A good command of English is mandatory for all candidates. This includes both oral and written communication skills, as English is the primary language used within the IAEA. Knowledge of additional languages may be considered an asset, particularly the other official IAEA languages: Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, and Spanish.

Additional Notes:
The positions are office-based and will not offer remote work opportunities. Recruitment will be conducted on a local basis, meaning that applicants must be legal residents of Austria. The appointment is subject to a satisfactory medical report, and candidates should be aware that IAEA personnel are bound to a code of conduct. The IAEA retains the discretion not to make any appointment against this pipeline or to make an appointment at a lower grade or with a different contract type. Testing may be part of the selection process.
