Job Overview:
The internship-position" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">internship position in the Resident Coordination in El Salvador is designed to provide support to the Resident Coordinator Office under the supervision of the Data Manager, Mr. Danny Medrano. The internship is expected to last between 2 to 6 months, depending on the office's needs. Interns will be involved in organizing and systematizing documentation, taking meeting minutes, and assisting in the preparation of intermediate products and inputs required for evaluations and the IMS2025 Annual Survey. This role is crucial for ensuring that the office operates efficiently and effectively in its mission to support the region's development.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Interns will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including but not limited to: organizing and systematizing documentation related to the office's activities; taking detailed meeting minutes to ensure accurate records of discussions and decisions; supporting the preparation of intermediate products that contribute to ongoing projects; assisting in the compilation of inputs required for evaluations; and participating in the IMS2025 Annual Survey preparation. Interns may also be tasked with additional duties as assigned by the Data Manager, which may include data entry, research, and analysis tasks.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a high school diploma as a minimum educational requirement. Additionally, applicants must meet one of the following criteria: be enrolled in or have completed a graduate school program (second university degree or equivalent, or higher); or be enrolled in or have completed the final academic year of a first university degree program (minimum bachelor’s degree or equivalent). While professional work experience is not required for this internship, a field of study closely related to the internship is necessary. Applicants should also have good knowledge of standard software applications, particularly MS Word, MS PowerPoint, and MS Teams.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this internship includes being a student in the final year of a first university degree (bachelor or equivalent), or being enrolled in or having completed a Master’s or Ph.D. program. Proof of enrollment or completion must be provided with the application, and an official certificate will be required at a later stage.

Experience:
No prior professional work experience is required for this internship. However, candidates should have relevant academic experience or coursework that aligns with the responsibilities of the internship. This is an opportunity for students or recent graduates to gain practical experience in a UN setting, particularly in areas related to data management and public policy evaluation.

Languages:
Fluency in spoken and written Spanish is mandatory for this internship, as it is one of the working languages of the UN Secretariat. Knowledge of English is considered an advantage, as it may facilitate communication and understanding of documents and discussions within the UN framework.
