Job Overview: The HR Assistant position is designed for a motivated HR professional with hands-on experience in recruitment, particularly focusing on contingent workers and volunteers. Duties and Responsibilities: The HR Assistant will be responsible for managing the recruitment of contingent workers and volunteers, as well as supporting the recruitment of national staff. Key responsibilities include ensuring that all recruitment documents are properly filed and documented for future reference, conducting inductions for new staff and contingent workers, and ensuring that all onboarding documents are signed. The HR Assistant will maintain an up-to-date database of contingent workers, track the expiration dates of Terms of Reference (ToR), and be available to answer HR-related questions from staff. Additionally, the HR Assistant will organize workshops, training schedules, and events as requested, and will be required to visit field offices and camps regularly. Other HR and administrative duties may be assigned by the line manager, and these responsibilities will be adapted to the specific job location and context, as well as the strategic focus and type of program intervention.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree in business administration, human resources, or a relevant field. A minimum of one year of relevant working experience in HR, preferably with an international NGO, is preferred. Candidates should demonstrate fluency in English and Bangla, with oral proficiency in the Chittagonian or Rohingya dialect being an advantage. Knowledge of governance and administrative structures in Bangladesh, as well as familiarity with Bangladesh labor legislation and policies related to INGO work, will be beneficial. Experience in managing contingent worker and volunteer recruitment is essential, along with documented results related to the position’s responsibilities. Previous experience working in complex and volatile contexts, particularly in the Rohingya camp context, is highly valued. Proficiency in Microsoft Office is also required.
Educational Background: The educational background required for this position includes a Bachelor’s degree in business administration, human resources, or a related field. This educational foundation is essential for understanding the principles of human resource management and the operational needs of the organization.
Experience: The HR Assistant position requires at least one year of relevant working experience in human resources, ideally within an international NGO context.
