Job Overview: The Business Systems Analyst (PRIMA) position is integral to the Project Performance Division (PPD) within the Office of Strategy and Organizational Performance (OSP). This role involves translating business needs into functional requirements to enhance the PRIMA platform, which is crucial for project cycle management within IOM. The analyst will work closely with various stakeholders, including the Department of Information and Communications Technology (ICT) and the Business Relationship Manager, to assess the current PRIMA platform and identify areas for improvement. The position requires a proactive approach to gather and maintain business requirements, develop test scenarios, and ensure that updates to project cycle processes are effectively incorporated into the PRIMA platform. The analyst will also be responsible for coordinating capacity development programs and optimizing the PRIMA platform's dashboard for better data analysis and integrity.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Gather, maintain, and translate business requirements into functional solution strategies for the PRIMA platform.
Coordinate with ICT and Wave Phase 2 Project teams to gather requirements for the PRIMA re-platforming project.
Conduct performance assessments of the current PRIMA platform and provide recommendations for improvements.
Collaborate with the Business Process Analyst to ensure business requirements are accurately reflected in the new platform.
Develop test scenarios and participate in end-user training delivery.
Ensure updates to project cycle processes are incorporated into the PRIMA platform.
Coordinate ongoing PRIMA capacity development programs, including AI integration.
Supervise the optimization of the PRIMA platform dashboard, including data migration and maintenance. 1
Generate information products utilizing PRIMA data to support institutional planning and reporting. 1
Provide technical guidance on reporting and monitoring requirements. 1
Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a Master's degree in Business Administration, Management, Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field from an accredited institution, along with five years of relevant professional experience. Alternatively, a University Degree in the aforementioned fields with seven years of relevant experience is acceptable. Knowledge of Microsoft SharePoint, IOM PRIMA application, and experience with WAVE concepts, SalesForce, and Access databases are strong advantages. Candidates should also have advanced data visualization skills and experience in designing information management products and reports.
Educational Background: A Master's degree in a relevant field such as Business Administration, Management, Information Technology, Computer Science, or Engineering is required. Candidates with a University Degree in these fields must have additional years of relevant experience to qualify. Accreditation from recognized institutions listed in the UNESCO World Higher Education Database is necessary.
Experience: At least five years of relevant experience in roles such as Business Analyst, Information Management Coordinator, or Data Analyst is required. Familiarity with Project Cycle Management (PCM), Results-Based Management (RBM), and information knowledge management within IOM or similar entities is preferred. Experience in stakeholder management and coordination of training events is also advantageous.
Languages: Fluency in English is mandatory for this position, both oral and written. A working knowledge of another UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, or Spanish) is considered an advantage. Language proficiency will be evaluated during the selection process, which may include written and/or oral assessments.
Additional Notes: The position is a fixed-term contract for one year, with the possibility of extension. It is classified at the P-3 grade level and is open only to internal candidates and former IOM staff members who were separated in the last 12 months. Internationally recruited professional staff are required to be mobile. The selection process may be used to fill similar positions in various duty stations, and recommended candidates will remain eligible for appointment for 24 months. Candidates must meet medical fitness requirements and any residency or visa requirements.
