Job Overview: The GHG Emissions Data CollectionIntern position at WWF-US is designed for a detail-oriented and proactive individual who is eager to contribute to the organization's sustainability efforts. The intern will play a crucial role in supporting the annual data gathering process for WWF’s fiscal year 2025 greenhouse gas inventory. This position involves collaboration with internal staff and external partners to collect, organize, and validate a diverse range of operational data from various WWF offices, including the headquarters, domestic offices, and international country units. The intern's work will be instrumental in ensuring the accuracy and completeness of emissions reporting, which is vital for effective climate action within the organization. Duties and Responsibilities: The intern will take the lead on data collection efforts for all Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions from WWF-US’s domestic and international offices. Responsibilities include tracking, validating, and organizing data received to identify gaps and opportunities for improving the data collection process. The intern will follow up with stakeholders, which may involve meetings with teams or offices, to ensure that all data collection is complete and accurate within the designated timeframe. Additionally, the intern will review and analyze the data received to explore opportunities for extracting more granular data, thereby enhancing the accuracy of WWF’s emissions data. Participation in WWF’s green team, which is dedicated to tracking, reporting, and reducing the organization’s internal greenhouse gas emissions, is also a key responsibility. The intern will collaborate with a third-party consultant who leads WWF’s annual footprint exercise, contributing to the overall mission of reducing the organization's environmental impact.
Required Qualifications: Candidates should be pursuing or have completed a Bachelor's or Master's degree in sustainability, environmental science, business, or a related field. Additional Notes: The internship is a paid position, offering compensation in the range of $21 to $23 per hour for a commitment of 35 hours per week.
